All programs have different approaches to scheduling. I don't really see anything wrong with OSU's(except cancelling UT/UGA) and I love the approach Saban takes.  Just because they are different doesn't mean one is right and one is wrong. Different situations dictate a different route.

Problem for OSU is the BIG10 is so weak. As a fan you want to see a few big matchups each year for your team rather OOC or in, doesn't matter. For now the conference just does not provide the elite type program(s) to play. Going forward it could get even worse. Adding two avg at best teams not only dilutes the league even more but it will cause teams to play one less game against the top league teams.  Same happened to SEC, and they added what turned out to be a top 10 team.  SEC will have six top ten type teams next year, yet A&M will only play two of them during regular season, same for Bama. As a fan of CFB it sucks, I hate conference expansion. Saban is pushing for nine game conference schedules but there's a lot of resistance.

So do we get credit for scheduling a home and home with Texas, USC, Oklahoma, Va Tech, USC or does it only count if you play SEC teams?  I wish we would schedule teams from the SEC, I enjoyed the wins over LSU when I was in college.

Not sure why you think I'm not giving OSU credit, I enjoyed watching the USC and UT series.

I wish OSU would schedule SEC teams also. They had four but cancelled them earlier this year.

Your opening post mentioned Wisconsin stepping up, it seemed like a veiled criticism much like starting a thread about another B10 team playing an SEC team but if that truly wasn't your intent my apologies. Vanderbilt canceled the series with us and we cancelled Georgia due to the B10/Pac 12 series but hopefully we can add some SEC teams to the schedule.  Although I can't imagine what this board will be like if that happens.

Arguing that a proposition is true because belief in it has good consequences, or that it is false because belief in it has bad consequences is often an irrelevancy.

The thread title was a little misleading. I thought Montee Ball cried enough to actually get into the NCG. Between Cryin Bo Ryan, Cryin ass Bart Bielema and Montee Ball, is there a state in the Union that cries more than Wisconsin?
