I'm just the opposite: I always liked USC and was hoping Kiffin was the guy after Carroll. However, I'm not ready to give up on him as yet!!

Hoping they make some kind of statement (positive) at the Sun Bowl. If they can't beat a fen' Georgia Tech, than I have him figured all wrong!!

Well I hate usc but you are right if you can't be Ga Tech this year something is wrong. Again I hope they kill Ga Tech and he buys another 2 or 3 years I don't think it will ever work with him. They have too much talent to turn up with that record this year. All coaching and the atmosphere the guy is creating. He is a clown.

If we can't beat the #3 ranked GT rushing attack with the 54th ranked rush D something is wrong???  Ok...  What a shock a Pac team gets to play an ACC team for the first time since... ummm since... well, Stanford did play VT in a BCS game...

Buddy we dind't beat UCLA AND ND.  Something is already wrong.

On the US side. Drug cartel on the Mexican side are killing more people per day than almost anywhere in North America

Although USC should use the experience as motivation to never again go there.

El Paso is only the US side. Juarez is the world's most dangerous city, but it is in Mexico, not the US, and the violence doesn't migrate.

That sucks for Juarez, but El Paso, USA has a fraction of the violent crime of Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Cincinnati, Toledo, [fill in the blank with almost any real US city here].

Only cities safer are Honolulu, San Diego and San Jose.

This is very true. Of all of the murders in El Paso in 2012 (not that there were a ton), not one was linked to cartel violence. That is really amazing.

I myself am active duty, and did not have a great experience my three trips to El Paso.  I did not, however, disgrace myself, my unit, or my state while visiting.  I guess California doesn't really it's a laughing stock, and this is coming from service members from there.

stoptothink wrote: So a logistical issue, with the major factor(the plane being delayed) not in any way under his control, and Kiffin is an a$$? Are you ignorant enough to think he was in charge of planning the logistics of the trip? Any other coach in the country and this is never reported. I'd consider Paul Johnson more of an a-hole in this case, making his team leave over 75min early knowing very well that it would be Kiffin who would be getting basted by the media for it. This is nothing more than gamesmanship on Johnson's part.

Let me get this straight.... USC schedules a ~2 hour plane trip that is probably a ~5 hour effort in itself from leaving the facility, going through security, loading onto a plane, departing, arriving, etc. and you lose one hour (or two - not sure) due to time zone change and drive these buses all over town from airport to practice to hotel to where ever else and hold a 'x' hour practice on the other side of town and then arrive to a bowl dinner all in one day for what 120-130 players, coaches, administrators and Kiffin & USC are not at fault.

Appears to be "100# of crap going into an 80# bag" p*ss poor logisitical planning of a day if you ask me.  Kiffin is an arse, plan and simple.  Only adds to his reputation.  Throw in a couple of idiotic tweets from the "don't think, only type and send it out" crowd and you got the whole town against you.  Preseason #1, what a joke!

Go BUCKS!!!

Re: How childish can Kiffin and his players get?

As others have stated, El Paso is an extremely safe city; I believe it was second or third on the FBIs list for large cities, which is downright impressive considering it's the 19th largest city in the country with well over 600,000 citizens.

He has two more years on his contract, but without having either Oregon or Washington on their schedule in 2013 or 2014, another 7-5 record might get him tossed a year early.

Wow kiffin and the USC program is a wreck. No GA Tech pun intended. This is a team with some of the best recruits in the country. We hear about well they are not deep but the starting 22 is the best in the country. Really? If that is the case you would have to fire the coach based off of this year. Again I hope Kiffin stays 3 or 4 more years they will be nothing until he is gone.

You my friend are being very very generous calling Lame Sniffn mediocre. At best he is a liar, cheater, and a loser. He has proven this everywhere he has been.  Just a matter of time until Pat Haden unloads him.
