How childish can Kiffin and his players get?

How childish can Kiffin and his players get?

USC players trash El Paso on twitter, and show up an hour late to bowl dinner so Georgia Tech just leaves.  I used to have respect for SC but Jesus, Kiffin's so immature Lol.

I struggle to understand how USC didn't know what they were getting when they hired Kiffin.

In other words, are you sure they have a problem with him (I mean other than the losing)?

Re: How childish can Kiffin and his players get?

mrbuckeye if you remember mike garrett hired kiffin.

the same one who said the only reason usc got ncaa sanctions was because everyone else in america was jealous of the trojans.rolleyes

pat haden pretty much inherited the mess and must have figured since they had a contract with him he would ride out the probation with him and PRAY him and orgeron didnt get more sanctions.

i have to think haden will bring in a real coach as soon as the sanctions are over. depending on next seasons results it could be next december.

Lane Kiffin aka Man who never deserved one of his head coaching jobs. Cowherd keeps trying hard to believe Kiffin is gonna have USC at the level when Pete Carroll was there. Pete Carroll is in a whole nother atmosphere in terms of coaching. Kiffin is such a mediocre coach, good coordinator but mediocre coach

Can't fault Kiffin or USC for being late. Their plane arrived late so their practice ended late. They informed the Sun Bowl officials. If they didn't get the word to GT then that's on the theml.

At the beginning of the season, there is no way anyone associated with that team thought they would be in El Paso TX practicing for a game that nobody will really watch. Nice to see this happening.

What a jerk, actually trying to finish practice, make his team better, and try and win a bowl game.

Re: How childish can Kiffin and his players get?

Pat Haden has always been a real class act, and I agree with lowiq that he can't be blamed for inheriting this mess, and will certainly consider dumping him after next season if they go 7-5 again.

They do miss Oregon & Washington the next two seasons, and their 2013 schedule features home games against UCLA, Stanford, WSU, Utah, Arizona, BC & Utah State.

They'll also take road trips to ASU, Cal, Colorado, Oregon St. (a definite 'chamber of horrors' for them in recent years), Honolulu & South Bend.

Another 7-5 record next year with a schedule without the Huskies & Ducks could conceivably compel Haden to pull the trigger & toss Kiffin overboard.

My wife's friend and her active duty Army husband had a terrible experience in El Paso.

So, at this point I have never heard anything positive about the area.

Although USC should use the experience as motivation to never again go there.

Let me get this straight.... USC schedules a ~2 hour plane trip that is probably a ~5 hour effort in itself from leaving the facility, going through security, loading onto a plane, departing, arriving, etc. and you lose one hour (or two - not sure) due to time zone change and drive these buses all over town from airport to practice to hotel to where ever else and hold a 'x' hour practice on the other side of town and then arrive to a bowl dinner all in one day for what 120-130 players, coaches, administrators and Kiffin & USC are not at fault.

Appears to be "100# of crap going into an 80# bag" p*ss poor logisitical planning of a day if you ask me.  Kiffin is an arse, plan and simple.  Only adds to his reputation.  Throw in a couple of idiotic tweets from the "don't think, only type and send it out" crowd and you got the whole town against you.  Preseason #1, what a joke!

Nothing new young child. Miami did this kind of stuff at bowl games in the 1980s.

There's a certain kind of reassuring white rock....and some people do well with that.....

So a logistical issue, with the major factor(the plane being delayed) not in any way under his control, and Kiffin is an a$$? Are you ignorant enough to think he was in charge of planning the logistics of the trip? Any other coach in the country and this is never reported. I'd consider Paul Johnson more of an a-hole in this case, making his team leave over 75min early knowing very well that it would be Kiffin who would be getting basted by the media for it. This is nothing more than gamesmanship on Johnson's part.

The USC, player's tweet about it was pretty spot on. It is a 'crap' hole.
But strangely, it is also one of the two or three safest cities in the USA.

No ****. Lane Kiffin is a moron which is why it's fun to laugh at his continual failures.

RE: How childish can Kiffin and his players get?

Kiffin is one of those guys you really have to look to figure out what he has ever done to get to the position he holds? If Pat Hadden has any sense he will move on from Kiffin. I love Kiffin being there it just reminds me when a team you hate say the Cowboys had Quincy Carter at QB you knew it would never work out and you jut hope it takes USC in this instance forever to figure it out.
