Bears release Sanzenbacher but...

Bengals pick him up off waivers today. Good for him. One of my favorite Buckeyes.

RE: Sanzenbacher to Bengals

He played good for Chicago last year when he was thrown into the lineup. The fact that he doesnt drop passes and doesnt shy away from contact will be a benefit for Cincy. I hope to see him get some playing time.

Strange pickup for the Bengals, I wonder if there is an injury that's not being reported as the Bengals are seven deep(minus season ending injury to third round pick), perhaps Whalen is toast?

Re: Sanzenbacher to Bengals

The Bengals ended the injury-plagued rookie season of first-round pick Dre Kirkpatrick Tuesday when they put the cornerback on injured reserve with a knee issue that is apparently related to the bone spur that wiped out his training camp and the first seven games of the season.

Amen!! I was just watching the 2010 Rose Bowl earlier today and was wondering how Dane was doing. Glad to see him back in his home state with my preferred NFL team.

Didnt even know he was released until today.

Given Sanu's injury, it makes sense (slot WR).  I think Whalen spells Jones (as a backup).  So Sanz would spell Hawkins.

I never understood where Tate fits in.

Tate  is a returner that had success the last few years but just really takes up a WR spot. Binns was still active a game or two ago but he hasn't gotten much playing time the last half of the season, Sanu and Hawkins passed him on the depth chart. I don't know if the young man can't figure out how to run his routes because the team praised his physical ability.

RE: Sanzenbacher to Bengals

The Bengals had some hard luck with Binns. They cut him to give Sanu more playing time and then Sanu got hurt a week or two later. Bu tby then the Dolphins picked up Binns. Cincinnati sure would like to have him now.....

Wow, didn't realize that the Bengals cut him, why keep Whalen instead?

Re: Sanzenbacher to Bengals

The Bengals dropped too many passes when they let Dallas off the hook......Sansenbacher can help with that big time
