Other than USC, name a team that has a better string of QBs than UT over the last 15 years.

Okay, list the Purdue and UF QBs over the last 15 years and compare them to:

Major Applewhite
Chris Simms
Vince Young
Colt McCoy
Garret Gilbert

Garrett Gilbert?  Seriously?  He lead Texas to their worst season in decades (5-7), got benched, and transfered out.

Mobilhoma has had an impressive run under Stoops. The Bomar, Paul Thompson years in '06 and '06 were kinda lean but outside of that they had Josh Heupel, Jason White, Sam Bradford and Landry Jones.

Both of your lists are better than Texas or Florida, in terms of pure QB talent.

There's a certain kind of reassuring white rock....and some people do well with that.....

Drew Brees is the only one. Then again, Louisiana HS QBs have won 3 of the last 6 Super Bowls and lost another.

4 of the 9 are rookies (assuming Foles was counted among them).

I'm not sure why he would count Foles, he is not a starting QB now in the NFL. So I can only count eight. Maybe I am missing someone.

Foles was a starting QB until he broke his hand in Sunday's game.

The OP may have also been counting McElroy who is now the starter for the Jets (in so much as that is something to be proud of).

Re: 9 of 32 NFL starting QB

That is true, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to count him now that he is hurt if he was originally counted because someone else was hurt (Vick).

Anyway, that's a lot of Texas HS QBs. A couple horrible ones with no real starting future (McElroy and probably Foles, see Koy Detmer/Kolb), a super star (Brees), several that probably won't be fantastic (Tannehill, Ponder) and four that could be really good (Stafford, RG3, Luck, Dalton).

Not a bad sampling.

Yes he is counting McElroy. This exact post was on the Bama board.
