Sorry, I support true Buckeyes like John Simon and Zack Boren. Hate is a strong word. I just don't happen to like guys like TP who are only it it for themselves. HAWAIIANBUCKEYE wrote:

Well, based on your view of TP you better start making a list and checking it twice because it's gonna be a shockingly LONG one when you find out who's naughty or nice. RE: Terrelle Pryor
I don't hate Pryor but this a ridiculous statement. Pryor's treatment at OSU went well beyond pampered, and Tressel's handling of the entire situation only magnified the problem. To say I cannot be a fan of Ohio State if this situation pissed me off, is dumb. BuckeyeBash22 wrote:

RE: Terrelle Pryor
A bunch of adults holding grudges against some teenagers because of their stupid mistakes. Im sure you made mistakes as well as your children, and you wasnt hated forever and you didnt hate your children forever. Those kids loved Ohio State and carried alot of passion into games. I still remember Pryor as a true freshman looking PISSED OFF on the sideline when Boeckman got our asses kicked by USC his first year. Or all those times he destroyed scUM? He led us past Oregon and Arkansas in bowl games and should of had the W against Texas. What happend is in the past now. Im hoping to see TP get the start for Oakland, and force Palmer out of there and take Leinhart's job.

Pryor is probably involved in more of those than any other player on the team, with a couple of them being events he did by himself while hes made out to be a selfish thug who cares only about himself, it is pretty far from the truth..... and I can tell you that from personal experiences and stories, from when he was a junior in high school, to at Ohio State, and to where he is at now..... sure he made some mistakes at OSU and obviously took plenty of handouts, but I dont think you can judge him on that for the rest of his life.... especially when he is grouped in the 99% of other major college athletes that have benefited from "the system"

mballer wrote: watching lienart play yesterday instead of pryor was horrible.. then watching cam throw some okay passes to wide open recievers and scrambling around and getting long runs was just a slap in the face. you have two players who are extremely similar with one having a laser of an arm. and one being faster. but pretty much the same type of player. one is a number one overal pick who starts from day 1 and one is a third round supplemental draft pick who rides the pine for two years. its so frustraiting. no person can sit there and tell me newton is WORLDS better than pryor. he might be better in accuracy and strength but damn.. pryor isnt that bad to have matt lienart start over him.
i hope pryor can get out of oakland quick before the coaches ruin his nfl career. hes being wasted.
if he doesnt get meaningful snaps next week vs. san diego then i would demand a trade. Isnt accuracy and arm strength what you want to be your QBs better attributes?

RE: Terrelle Pryor
Nah, rule changes favor the qb who stays in the pocket and passes as opposed to those that run. Favorable for a qb to sit in the pocket and throw with the changes in no-contact rules for defensive backs. Passing league, see? --------------------------------------------- --- rayb678 wrote: CLTBUCKEYE wrote: When I was about 10 years old I asked my dad why the QB wasn't a guy that could also run like a RB. I never used the term dual threat, but that's what I was talking about.
So I guess it was about 1979/80 when I had the idea for what we see now in Vince Young, Cam Newton, Terrel Pryor, Braxton Miller...type QB...it just took several years for people to catch on to my idea.
kodok wrote: I have always wondered why a team doesn't try something like this. If a team does get a running QB, they usually don't have running back ups. You can pick up running quarterbacks cheaply, and you can find big guys that can run block but not pass block. If you built an offense with 2 big tight ends (the guys who can't pass block), have a couple of running quarterbacks and a fullback in the backfield, and one super fast receiver who sprints down the field every play (change him every down so he will keep sprinting and wear out the corners) to keep the defense somewhat honest. You would need a good D, but you could build the O cheaply and invest all the money in the D.

I wish an NFL team would scoop up Vick, Tebow, Vince Young, and TP...!
Base offense would be HEAVY on the read option look... Tebow at QB, Vick to his right at RB (Tebow the power threat, Vick running outside the tackles)... Like what the defense is showing you? Shift Tebow and Vick, all of sudden Vick's passing out of the shotgun and Tebow's picking up the blitz!
Heavily run the QBs... One goes down? Plug in the next one and don't even blink an eye!!!
Best thing is, you can get Tebow, TP, Vince Young, etc, etc, etc for very cheap! With the Browns poor history of starting QBs, I think they should consider this (grant it, I am a steelers fan)!
--------------------------------------------- It took the rules to change to the point where quarterbacks are treated like women and the refs see themselves as knights in shining armor throwing flags when the women are touched for your vision to become reality. It's not the same game as it was in 1980. If you don't have a QB that can run, you're not taking advantage of the rule changes that have been put in place, and you'd better have a guy with the accuracy/ timing of Manning under center to be successful. These guys wouldn't last in 1980's NFL. It's almost like watching a different sport. I see the need for rule changes to better protect players, I just don't like that QBs get to play with a special set of rules. ---------------------------------------------
