What a shame to see him waste not only his talent, but the opportunities that so many can only dream of.

He was thought of as this great talent at bama but he never practiced with the team but did some seven on seven stuff before fall... Never got his shet together and his dad CC was on campus at bama many times but I guess it did not help. The kid has problems no doubt and watch he may show up playing on sundays.. YOu never know...

What a sad state of affairs. Yes, he'd been given opportunities many of us could only dream of, but it is also true when they say that college is definitely not for everyone. It would seem Duron is one of those people. So I don't begrudge him for it. I'm sure if there were a football minor league he could have signed with coming out of high school, he may full well have gone that route.

Perhaps his best bet at this point is to cut his losses and sign with a CFL or Arena League team to build up his resume a little bit before giving the NFL a shot. (which I see as a possibility just by the nature of his "C.C." pedigree)

I wish him the best.

People act like he is out of chances. Duron will get signed as an UFA and have his chance in the NFL.

I'm sure if he put forth a little bit of effort in the classroom, he would've been fine. Comeon, it's not like he had to take organic chemistry/calculus each semester.  There are so many resources to athletes, especially big time college football programs. Yes college isn't for everyone, but he just needed to put in a little effort, tutors were always available to work with him around his schedule. He is not a victim, he has nobody to blame but himself. People would kill for these oppertunities that he wasted away.

With that said, he has all the talent in the world and he is young. He still has hope, just needs to find some ambition and develop a strong work ethic and he can absolutely still be successful.

Possibly.  But, there is a trend here.  Whether it's the work or taking direction, when it's go time, he quits.  I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but it appears he is headed in one direction fast and football is only a side story.

Agreed. If he had the motivation to put a little time in and chosen a mickey mouse major I have no doubt he would've been able to get a 2.0 even at Ohio State. Not to mention the fact that SEC schools, in general, are probably one letter grade easier than Big 10 schools. I think anyone isn't mentally retarded would be able to get a C in an easy major if they really wanted to.

I think it's extemely unlikely he'll ever do anything in the NFL.  The NFL does care about character.  They see poor character as a "risk", and they are all about cold, heartless minimization of risk.

He will never make one catch in the NFL.  He was marginal here when he played.  Kid is LAZY and unmotivated and probably not very smart, either.

He will play with MoC next year if lucky.  The kid wasn't that good.

I used to think that, and because football means a lot to the fans (including us) especially those of us who live rather vicariously through college and professional athletes, it seems almost like a crime to have such God-given football talent seemingly go to waste.

But playing football and going to college never seemed that important to Duron. And that's OK if it is not meant for you. You could call him lazy, misguided, whatever, and he may turn out to be a total zero. Hopefully, he works hard and does something constructive with himself in future endeavors.

Marginal football players tend not to play a ton at Ohio State as 18 year old Freshman. Also, the word out of Alabama was that he was going to be their best WR. I'm certainly not saying he is Jerry Rice, bit if you think he's not a good player it is probably you that's not very smart.

When Cris Carter is still working the set of NFL Today, or whichever one he is on, when he is 75 you will know why!

Because he has to support Duron.
