Sounds like the famous SEC spin bullchit. Do you ever have a freaking clue what you are talking about? Wisky approached Bama about a home and home and sure enough, SABAN declined. They have since been in negotiations for a neutral site game which was announced yesterday. --------------------------------------------- --- 34011 wrote: OSUVB wrote:

A poster here said a day or two back OSU wanted an H&H but Bama wanted a neutral site game. I have no idea who's right.
Personally, I just want to see something no one has ever seen - an Ohio State team taking the field at Bryant-Denny, and an Alabama team taking the field at The Shoe, with the crowds going crazy at both places. I'm sure you & I and both fanbases would love it. Wisky offered bama a H/H series but we told them we would play a neutral site game in Dallas, if they wanted they said no thanks.. Mal Moore/Saban like the big neutral site game each year becuse it makes more money from a year to year standpoint.. I think bama will stick with the neutral site game for the most part. We do have a H/H series with the MSU, but after that we may stop H/H all togeather if we can get big time neutral site games... Neutral site game, bama gets 30k tickests and at a away game we might 10k tickets.. Neutral site games are the future, for big OOC games... ---------------------------------------------

That's gotta be the fen' dumbest post of the year (last year). So you play two neutral games, 30,000 fans a year, no money from refreshments, no money being spent in your town. Two games 1 home and 1 away = apx. 100,000 tickets, plus money being made at two towns. Who in the fuc# want to go to Dallas or atlanta anyway?

The numbers have already been put out there. You can make more by doing the one-off neutral site games regularly than you can with home-and-home series. Beyond that, it's for recruiting. I know you are familliar with it. It's how you build a team that is about to win its 3rd national title in four years.

Over a two year period, Bama makes more in 2 neutral site games than one home followed by one road. Plus, they don't get a year with a big drop off in revenues when they travel. Also, they can basically sell the neutral site game tickets at a premium and satisfy demand for tickets. When we went to PSU, we got 5k which made many upset who could not get tickets. So, go ahead and declare this the dumbest post of this year so far. Plus, Dallas and Atlanta are awesome!

Firat of all, don't ever site Bleacher Report for reliable information about Alabama. But, read the third paragraph of the article. Neutral site was the first discussion and then Whisky "countered" with a home and home.

1. If I am suppose to ignore bleacher report, why am I to read the third paragraph? 2. This wasn't a report from bleacher report but a summary from another article. 3. It says ESPN started the discussions between the schools, not Bama.

Re: Saban to announce jump to NFL after BCS title game
The discussion began with Bama wanting to go back to Dallas and Dallas wanting Bama back in that game. ESPN got involved in finding an opponent as tv often does in setting up inter conference games. Wisky was contacted and discussions began. There was discussion of home and home and 2 separate neutral site games. They couldn't work out a 2 game deal and they have settled for one game in Dallas for 2015. The discussions began with a one game deal in Dallas like was done with Michigan this year.
What the hell else do you critics want? Over a 6 year period, we will have played 4 different Big 10 teams, two teams in neutral site games and two home and home series. We will have played 4 of the 5 top teams in the Big 10.

College coaches control states and regions, not so much NFL coaches. For every Carroll there are two or three Spurriers, ones that tried the NFL and did not like it. I would see O'Brien from PSU going before Coach Saban.
If he was younger, he might, but he is in his 60's. To take over any other program, and rebuild (and face it, it would take longer to build an NFL team than a college team) takes time, and I do not think he wants to invest that much time anymore.
This really is a made up story, based in speculation, from a radio station in Cleveland...

That's a great theory, how ever the real connection and background (Dad) is with the BILLS.....if he go pro, the BILLS will in fact sign him as Head Coach & a piece of the team.
