Bret Beilema FLIPS Arkansas Native To Razorbacks From K-State
Coffeyville (Kan.) CC (JUCO) linebacker Martrell Spaight committed to Kansas State, but all indications now are he has / will be flipped to Arkansas by Razorback coach Bret Beilema.
So, he flips a home state native who's committed to an out of state program to his in state program. Sound familiar!?
At this point Bret Beilema makes Bobby Petrino look like a quality human being!
Wisconsin did well to lose Beilema and to replace him with Gary Anderson.

I hate Bielema like you guys but he never complained about recruiting other peoples players. Never ever. His issue was "bumping" into recruits which is what he believed UM did to Dodson. Knowing Bielemas true character as we do now he was probably full of sh*t. However the "gentleman's agreement" was all speculation conjured up by idiot reporters.
On Wisconsin!

Beilema acted like Ohio State had no right consider Dodson after Meyer was hired. If Dodson were completely committed to Wisconsin and uninterested in Ohio State he would have told Meyer no. Much like the absurd misquote that he got crushed for during the PSU mess.

The bumping thing was pretty well covered by the previous poster. Here is the partial transcript from Bielema's interview that turned into the "guess it's a good time to be a Badger fan" tweet, which he got crushed for: "Well, I obviously wasn't well-versed in the situation, but JoePa's done a lot for the game, done a lot for the world of college football... a guy that you can't take away anything that he's done from a football standpoint. "All that other stuff I'll let other people make decisions on. I think the NCAA's very clear on the NCAA versus... obviously the other things around Coach Sandusky and all that are legal matters and I can't see football or the NCAA getting involved in something like that. "But you know, I think that this definitely brings a little bit of a cloud to the world of college football and that's the only thing that I always have said along the way. Who in our minds would ever thought, you know, that the three major teams in our conference -- Ohio State, Michigan, and uh, Penn State -- would have these issues. "But I guess just enjoy and embrace being a Badger fan." "Any time anything (bad) happens in the world of college football,I think it's bad for everybody."

Otherwise anyone could type something, put quotes around it and call it gospel. Like this: "I like making sweet love to Badgers. Male or female, it really makes no difference to me" - Bo Ryan in an interview.

I'm not going to rip on BB but that quote is only marginally better than the misquote. But yes the false addition of "good time to.." did make it worse.

I think it will be intersting because Ark can be good. You almost have to win every battle in sec like that.

His style of football does not work well in the SEC. I fully expect him to be canned after posting records slightly better than John L. Smith.

if Dodson had any doubt in his mind that he made the right decision, I think it's gone now buckeyemark wrote: Beilema acted like Ohio State had no right consider Dodson after Meyer was hired. I think BB's style will fit just fine in the SEC, myself, I hate the hire the more I think about it.. Have you seen LSU,Bama, and UF this year. They run the ball and play tough D, that is what Wisky did, Now he is going to have to bring in and develop players but I would say Arkie has more talent than Wisky instate and alot more in surrounding states... ALot of diamond in the rough type guys in Texas...

Two best teams this year were AL and FL. They win with defense and running game. Sounds like his style to me. Defense still wins championships no matter what ESPN says.

LSU and Bama both play Wisconsin style football-albeit w/ superior athletes.

The infamous "Gentlemen's Agreement" crap came from Narduzzi who was butthurt over Pittman. Bert's claim to fame in this situation was his cry-baby, "I'm telling on you" disposition over Dodson and the now even more famous "We don't want to be like the SEC" line.

looking forward to his next graduate transfer. dont know arkansas' scholastics, but might be a bit tougher to find fake grad programs to hide these guys in, as opposed to Madison which was a giant school.

However, my comment is more about the style of play rather than coaching ability. For as much crap as OSU got for being conservative with JT take a look at the SEC. The power programs the past few years have been all about defense and conservative offense. Remember the newest 'game of the century' last year between LSU and Bama? Wow it was ugly. It works though.

We do not allow that practice in the SEC, Grad transfers allowed... I think is kind of dumb, but the coaches and presidents stopped it....
