Boise staying in MWC. Not joining BE.
I'm sure San Diego St will follow the same path.

I'm sure San Diego St will follow the same path. They're trying but the MWC is putting SDSU in it's place for now...
The Big East also could lose another member, as San Diego State may return to the Mountain West. With Boise State remaining in the Mountain West, the Aztecs' Big East contract allows them to withdraw from the Big East without paying an exit fee if there is no other Big East member located west of the Rocky Mountains. A Mountain West conference source with knowledge of the situation said San Diego State wants back in the Mountain West, but the league is holding up the process as it decides whether there is a better fit than the Aztecs and if there is a school that can deliver more value. The source said if SDSU returns to the Mountain West, the Aztecs would have to come back on the conference's terms. http://espn.go.com/college-spo...nce-sources-sayInterestingly enough, it appears Boise State played big ball with the MWC because in coming back, Boise get's to keep the TV rights to it's home games, they will not be sold as part of the MWC TV deal so Boise will get to package and sell them on their own. That's big stuff.

If the conference is set on going to 20, I don't see any way that ND doesn't join. What remaining conference is going to offer them a home for their non-revenue sports? The B12 & SEC will grab VT, Clemson, NCSt, and FSU, and neither of those conferences, in my opinion, will agree to becoming a quasi-conference for them. ND will have to choose between the B10, B12, Pac10, and SEC, with the Big10 being the most "national" and profitable conference.

If ND is included, they will be in a pod with Rutgers. Have to get them into NYC for the BTN. Wouldn't GT also need to be in the pod with UNC, UVA, UMD, and, PSU?

Using the teams listed above but replace Mizzou with Duke:
GT, UNC, Duke, Virginia, Maryland PSU, Rutgers, ND, Northwestern, Illinois OSU, Mich, MSU, Purdue, Indiana Wisky, Minn, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas
If the B1G goes to 20, these would be my predictions as of now and the probably pod arrangements. Pods would rotate and play each other every third year. 9 game conference schedule. Must get ND & PSU in with Rutgers. Also, ND would be in Chicago. These pods also keep rivalries together, bases on geography for the most part, and spread the national brands out. Could Duke be left out in favor of Florida State?

Neilliam2 wrote: I don't expect anything tonight, but I think once the Rose Bowl is over the B1G can consider doing.. something. With all due respect, I doubt any public moves will take place until after all the bowl games are over. Actually, given the status of Maryland's $50 million buyout from the ACC and its impact on other ACC schools (like NC, NCST, VA, VT) that would each have to cough up $50M to leave, I would not be surprised if nothing happened in the Realignment Bowl until 2014 since that fine will be contested in federal court to see if Maryland has to pay it all, some, or none. As for the Twitterverse and various blogs, I'd ignore them all since their collective prediction record is equal to my score rate with Emma Stone (e.g., 0%). Also, while the B1G wants AAU schools, it should be pointed out that AAU schools don't necessarily need the B1G. Vanderbilt's been in the SEC for decades and their academic reputation hasn't suffered one bit because of it. Same for NC, Virginia, and GTech - their academic reputations have nothing to do with their conference, and whether they join the SEC or B1G, they'll keep their academic reputations.

Re: All New Expansion Discussion HERE (Part 2)
The "chatter" is that Delany has been a very busy boy today. North Carolina has jumped over Virginia as team number 15 because they prefer the Big 10's academics over the SEC. I'm sure their fans aren't happy to hear that. And truthfully, neither am I. I prefer Virginia. But they, and or Duke, would be 17 or 18. The SEC wants VTech. North Carolina would be paired with either GTech or............ Texas. Apparently, Texas has contacted Delany and "communicated interest". I have heard "rumors" that their GOR is written in a way that gives them an out. I have no idea if that's true, but even if it is, there is the LHN issue to work out. FOX is guiding Delany during the expansion process, and it would be interesting to see if they would be willing to somehow take over ESPN's money losing LHN contract, and work it into a BTN 2. Anyway, that's a nutshell overview as we speak (subject to change of course). BuckyNut wrote: It's funny but this is the only site that I can find for expansion talk. I also just heard that Jesus has called and begged to join; we told him that we will get back to him when we get good and ready. I'll believe Texas when I see it too. But apparently, Dodds did make the call. And "rumor" is that North Carolina has been given a verbal invitation to the SEC. Right after they got it, they went to Delany. Their Administration, as opposed to their fans, really want to go Big 10. BigMen wrote:

Re: All New Expansion Discussion HERE (Part 2)
Expansion is not happening in a vacuum.. I think the O'bannon case and the PA. lawsuit vs. NCAA will hasten this process. The NCAA will learn it cannot make money off of the images of athletes and find out they overstepped their Boundaries with PSU (not saying PSU not guilty but far from it) and the Big football schools will pull out of the NCAAand form their own super conferences and forcing them all to make their own rules re: scholarships, cheating etc. It may be under an umbrella of sorts of the NCAA to keep their "amatuer status" but they will have to enforce their own rules.
