A conference should be like a fraternity of sorts imo. Could be a southern thing? The point stands though. UVA and UNC fans would have to hear this type of crap thrown at them week after week from B1G fanbases.......forever. Not appealing from a UVA/UNC point of view. buckwild23 wrote:

"conference brothers" LMAO It's a southern thing. PSU, Wisconsin, Illinois, etc...fans rip OSU every chance they get. I have NO IDEA what "conference brothers" is. That's why it's funny. I will give credit where credit is due. SO not ALL OSU fans will rip on NC/VA.

LSU fans and Ole Miss fans rip each other. Bama and Auburn... The schools rip each other every week. All the conference schools talk smack to each other....it is supposed to be all in good fun. Difference is.......nobody in the SEC will be trashing UVA/UNC about their southern heritage. They won't have to deal with that trash from SEC fanbases. They'll take crap for have stupid uniforms, mascots, coaches, ugly cheerleaders, crappy records, goofy chants......but they won't be called racist ignorant southern morons just for being located in North Carolina and Virginia. It is about culture of the schools/fanbases and how well they can relate to one another. It's cool though. I think yall should go over and give the UNC/UVA boards a taste of it before they would accept any invite. Just to see how well it'd go over and all..... buckwild23 wrote:

Yeah, the Big 10 would definitely bring down the perception of the UNC and UVA football teams.

Re: B1G Bowl Schedule is Going to be a Blood Bath
Do you really think fan relations are a significant factor in conference alignment? As far as conference "brothers", I don't think we feel particularly united around here. From what I've heard you boys down south are alot more conscious of the regional affiliation. I always figured the SEC chant is as much a southern pride thing as anything. Around here there is Ohio pride, not northern pride. trurebel wrote: LSU fans and Ole Miss fans rip each other. Bama and Auburn... The schools rip each other every week. I think the southern pride pretty much is a product of the long standing tradition for northerners to bash and insult southerners in general. Perhaps someday the double wide tobacco chewin insults will cease from our countrymen to the north. And yes, I think regional culture will play a part for those schools who will have options. Future SEC East: Virginia North Carolina South Carolina Tennessee Kentucky Vanderbilt Georgia Florida You can't tell me that doesn't just sound like a natural fit. This kind of stuff sells itself.... Right..... Are those schools from former slave states south of the Mason-Dixon line? Yeah, kinda what I thought..... You can read this board and see the insults towards the south. You don't even have to read the board very long..... GoldenPlaypen wrote:

Tru, you hit the proverbial nail on the head. I don't see any of that changing in our lifetime, however. I have been around UVA and UNC folks and quite frankly I don't know that I want them in the SEC. King size arrogance amongst those folks, like they are pretty sure theirs do not stink. Re: B1G Bowl Schedule is Going to be a Blood Bath
I think it is residual of the Confederate States of America. These states still see eachother tied together, now instead of as a rebelling country as a football conference. The irony of it all is white southerners have banded together to espouse the exploits of Southern football where the players are majority African American, and where the most successful coaches are from Northern states! Nick Saban 3-1 OR 4-0 in National Championship games - from West Virginia with ties to Ohio and Michigan. Urban Meyer 2-0 in National Championship games - from Ohio with ties to Ohio and Indiana. Les Miles 1-1 in National Championship games - from Ohio with ties to Michigan. The only "Southern" coaches to win National Championships for the SEC in the BCS era of domination are Phil Fullmer and Gene Chizik, both of who used African American QBs in Tee Martin, and Cam Newton. trurebel wrote: A conference should be like a fraternity of sorts imo.

The first 10 years of my life was spent in Georgia although my family was from Ohio. I know all about tards like you two. Keep up the myth. Most educated people can differentiate the difference between insults when bufoons like you come over touting superiority and someone trying to "get your goat" to get you to vanish. trurebel has stuck his nose into every thread just to rile people up. RE: B1G Bowl Schedule is Going to be a Blood Bath
There is nothing about the bowl system that favors the Big 10! No games in home states / within Big 10 footprint. Long trips across to country to play in stadiums never before played in in most cases. Often against highly ranked or very good teams. In 2012 Big 10 has BCS #6, #8, #10, 8-4 Mississippi State of the SEC, plus 3 teams from the Big 12 who went 7-5, BUT would probably be 8-4 or 9-3 in any other conference that doesn't play every conference opponent like the Big 12 does. Bowl system favors SEC, Pac 12, and even Big 12. Big 10 is ripped and crucified for playing equal or better opponents on the road, often in the opponents backyard. Yet media and experts act shocked when Big 10 has a losing bowl record when it should be expected in most years. "Maryland will be on a plane to play Wisconsin in the middle of the winter," Yow said. "Hope that money is really, really good." - this is a quote from NC State's Debbie Yow about Maryland. I would say this is yet another example of how Southerners feel about playing in the North. Michigan State says hello to you and Georgia. Oh, I almost forgot....MSU beat Georgia in a BOWL GAME last year because Georgia didn't want to be there. At least that's what "sec" fans tell me. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I love it! Motivation often plays a role in bowl games, but that was not the issue in the Outback bowl last year. Is the kicker not part of your team? If he wasn't good enough to make it, then your team wasn't good enough to win. You got outgained in yards as well. Just admit you weren't the better team, no need to add any qualifiers. DJSdawg wrote: MrSniffles wrote: No, you lost because you weren't the better team. Stop making excuses.
