B1G Expansion Survey
The B1G is running a survey regarding expansion and division realignment. Let them know what you think. It may be an opportunity to get OSU and Michigan in the same division. Survey Link Part 1Survey Link Part 2

Re: B1G Expansion Survey
Good survey, personally I don't believe anyone in the B1G home office will pay any attention to or make any moves in the conference based on the results of it.

Thanks for posting the link. I'm glad they're at least pretending to care what the fans think.

Re: B1G Expansion Survey
I said: - 10 conference games
- East/west divisions in FB and BB
- divisions based on geography and traditional rivalries (don't base it on competition since only geography remains constant from year to year)
- Also suggested conference championship games should be held ON campus provided stadium holds at least 70K

Re: B1G Expansion Survey
This needs to be pinned. Not sure how much weight it will carry with the Big Ten office, but it is a great opportunity for Buckeye fans to state that we want Michigan in the same division.

Thanks for the link; I never pass up a chance to rip these moronic conference names. I want to choke Delaney every time I even think of them.

RE: B1G Expansion Survey
I've been arguing for putting the 3 eastern schools with the 4 western schools and putting the Ohio/Michigan schools with the Illinois/Indiana schools. A Michigan blog actually details why this works better than I could mgoblog.com/content/hokepoints...sions-consensusThe biggest thing is that we have to get a set-up that doesn't require locked crossovers. If we have them, then there will likely be MAC teams we play more often than almost half the conference in football.

RE: B1G Expansion Survey
just don't care for the idea of tOSU stuck in a eastern conference made up of mostly ACC and BigLeast schools. It would take 20 years for the Buckeyes to play home and homes vs the west division what really is the Big 10. If this is what Delaney wants I would rather be independant in football!!!!!!

The Gophers have all 3..Penn St-Rutgers- Maryland in their division? Look at the drive times......Ohio St, East of Wisconsin-Iowa-Minnesota does not take the drive for any of the three eastern schools?....really? What a joke.

What a joke. --------------------------------------------- 1. Doesn't seem like many Gopher fans even make the drive to TCF Stadium, let alone Indiana. 2. It's a flight to most of the schools in the other division from Minnesota anyway. 3. The Gophs would have only 1 to 2 road trips to MD, Rutgers, and PSU in any given season - that's the most important point. 4. Minnesota would still play Wis, Iowa, Mich - all 3 rivals EVERY year. I really like that proposed alignment. But let's be honest, the expansion isn't done.

What a joke. I argued against this in another thread. The three eastern members would literally have to drive by / fly over the entire other division to get to the other 4 members of their division. 1317's proposal would be extremely convenient for 1/2 the conference,... Not so much for the other.

You realize that exact scenario happened this year with PSU playing at both Iowa and Nebraska anyway right? This proposal preserves all traditional conference rivalries.

RE: B1G Expansion Survey
I understand the travel argument, but think it doesn't close to overcoming the positives. The easiest drives for most the western 4 members are with each other and they are together. The easiest drives for the eastern 3 are with each other and they are together. Most these trips that are being eliminated were trips you'd fly to anyway which means not as much is lost.
More than that, we are talking about 1-2 locked road games on the other side of the conference. Given that the conference has already decided that Penn State and Nebraska are annual foes and that Wisconsin is fine an otherwise eastern division, I don't think travel should have any weight.

Done.
I suggested dump the B1G and BigTen namesake and go with NEC (North Eastern Conf) as to be polar opposite of the SEC.
