Ask the Hive: Father-Daughter Wedding Dance Song Recommendations

I may regret this, but I'll do it anyway.

My daughter is getting married in a few weeks. She has asked me to pick the father-daughter dance song. Google provides an endless supply of songs, so I thought I might could whittle the list down to 622 by coming to you. Any recommendations?

"Unforgettable" by Natalie and Nat King Cole is always a safe bet.

"In My Life" by The Beatles, also.

"You Are My Sunshine" by Johnny Cash.

This is a very personal choice and really depends on what kind of music you like and your relationship with your daughter.  But here are a few I like:

"Home" - Phillip Phillips
"You've Got A Friend" - James Taylor
"Wide Open Spaces" - Dixie Chicks
"Ballerina Girl" - Lionel Richie (if your daughter danced as a girl)
"Teach your Children" - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Agree on Unforgettable, can't go wrong with that.  Also would consider:

"The way you look tonight"
"My special angel"

Perhaps we should work in a different direction.  For instance, tell us what kind of dancing you plan to do.  The polka?  Twerking maybe?  Greek Plate Slamming?  The Egyptian Nipple Twist?

Of Course getting suggestions is great but just make sure it means something to you both...

" My Girl" Temptations

"Butterfly Kisses"  Bob Carlisle

"When we're together"  Mark Harris  watch the video if your not familiar with the movie Courageous.

"Cinderella" Steven Curtis Chapman  (he actually lost his daughter and wrote this song...)

Search on YouTube (or Google the lyrics) to:

"Cinderella" - Steven Curtis Chapman

Yep, it's a Father - Daughter slow dance, and for some, maybe a sing-along.

This is what my wife and FIL danced to.

They cut out the 3rd verse about "makin' love in the green grass".

100 points to PresJacket if right after the father-daughter dance, he grabs the hottest drunk chick in the place and the DJ blasts "Why Don't We Get Drunk And Screw?" to dance to.  Hopefully, this won't be his daughter.  I mean, they will have just danced before and people will start to think it is getting a little weird.
