Georgia Tech football student-athletes Anthony AutryDarius Commissiong and Travin Henry have been dismissed from the program, while Lynn Griffin has been suspended for the first two games of the 2014 season, due to violations of the Athletic Association's student-athlete code of conduct.

So, IIRC Autry & Commissiong were already suspended for the first 2 games.  Can't recall about Henry.

2 strikes and you're out???  Let the speculation begin.

Hate to lose anyone but Commie is the loss here, of course unless Autry leaving affects his brother. Or if Griffin gets another yellow card.

I think we have guys to fill the other spots but can't stand to lose guys on the line that still have potential.

I really hope Myles doesn't leave. What horrible news.

What in God's name is going on with our Wide Receiver recruiting/coaching/whatever ???

Greene, Autry, Henry all gone before completing half of eligibility, and Waller with multiple suspensions.

Something needs to change.

Can you lose someone who hasn't shown up yet?

Heck he has Clearinghouse issues as well.

He came here to play with his brother. If he takes a single snap in a GT uniform in a GT game I will be floored.

More openings for schollies I guess....this should be a pretty large class now.

Re: Three dismissals and suspension

So where did DC stand on our DL depth chart.   It's a good thing we have such tremendous depth
on our DLbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin.

Very disapointing.  I truly believe we are recruiting good kids, better on average vs. the factories with
respect to towing the line and staying out of trouble, do the school work etc..  But we have seen quite
a few problems in the last 6 months or so.   It makes me wonder if we are not doing something to
keep them on the right path.  I know you are talking about young men, and these kids will mess up,
like we all did, but it seems to be more than usual.

I seem to remember at least academically, when Chan Gailey first got here, we had the big academic
problem, because he thought there were checks and balances etc. to make sure something like
that didin't happen, not knowing they had been changed and then ...... boom.  Many academic suspensions.
Not that we should have to, especially if we are recruiting these top shelf kids, but could it be that we aren't
at least monitoring them or something to prevent some of this stuff from happening.  I am not talking
about Gestapo (sp?) tactics, but something to keep these kids straight.

You really only need 1 productive WR on this team. I think that's all CPJ is comfortable with.

Agree with most that DL depth is where you can't lose people. Need for the light to come on for someone.

Echo the others in that losing Commissiong is a big blow.  D-linemen in general are the biggest key to victory in my opinion, and Commissiong seemed to have good size and ability.

Roof is right; this is a time when our leaders need to step up and take over/crack down on these issues, whatever they may be.

Re: Three dismissals and suspension

We have lost 3 d-linemen (Atkins, Robbins, and Commisiong) from the 2013 class. Right now our depth on the d-line consists of Gotsis, Green, Gamble and Kallon. Hopefully they play injury free but it might be time to move Mason and possibly Klock to the d-line.
