Movie NIght at BDS

Haven't seen it mentioned here yet, but looking forward to this Friday night. Seen a few other schools do this, including Wisconsin. Fireworks after the movie next week.

I don't know if I would like the Muppets. My sister told me it wasn't that good, and not as good as the first one. I never saw the first one either.

But, I LOVED The Winter Soldier! It was AMAZING! I liked it a lot better than the original Captain America. It would be so awesome to see it in BDS. Then, to top it off, fireworks after the movie. excited

Sounds like a great idea. And by great I mean stupid.

Now there's the TECH fanbase I know and love...and by love, I mean hate.

Looks like a great way to get families with young children to campus. I hope there is a good turnout.

We'll be there, though despite the forecast I fully expect this thing to get rained out like any other Tech sponsored event we've tried to get to in recent years.

A take off of the old drive in movie concept.  Ah the memories devil

Still have a couple of them around Raleigh though some are a hike.  But when you find the right movie it is fun to go sit in the lounge chair and drink a beer and watch the movie.  As someone said great idea to get young families hooked on coming down to Bobby Dodd.

The starting line-up has been a well kept secret.  I'm surprised nothing has been leaked.

Here's my guesses for a few of the spots:

Starting at quarterback:

KermitTheFrog-CutePhoto

I fully expect Kermit to get the nod.  He's very elusive and runs the triple option with ease.

Starting at wide receiver:

Bigbirdnewversion

Big Bird.  His height makes up for what he lacks in speed.

Starting on the OL:

CookieMonsterWaving

The Cookie Monster.  He's been eating extra cookies to "beef up".

And on a side note.....I expect this guy to help with the Clogged Toilet Offense when basketball season rolls around:

The Muppets

Unlike many of you, being a Tech fan is not a religious experience for me.  Not everything has to be accepted as truth and followed with blind faith.

This is just a stupid idea.  I realize it's "out-of-the-box," and I want to give them credit for that, but I can't.  Anal apple bobbing is also an unorthodox idea - and also another bad one.  I can't believe someone gets paid to come up with promotions like this

HA!

One needs blind faith to think some people might want to watch a movie outside. Those people who watch the ones at Piedmont Park and Tech Square are just stupid because they don't agree with you.

I don't know if you are really this much of a curmudgeon or just playing one on the Hive.

No kidding. I'm going tonight because it's something different and cheap to do (I have 4 kids). We are meeting up with other Tech friends and it should be a nice time.

No need to completely take a dump on other people's plans.

Give 'em Hell Tech!

Here are some facts and subjective opinions, that shouldn't take "blind faith" to agree with
- We do not sell out many games at BDS.  And usually only sell out Clemson and UGAg, recently.
- We do not have the most energized alumnni fan base
- We have minimal "sidewalk fan" involvement from Atlanta

I'd suspect that those aren't too controversial.  That said .... what would you do to help improve the image of GT athletics in July at a relatively minimal cost?

I give the AA credit for trying this.  If it doesn't work, then what is the harm.  I'll reserve judgement on the success or failure until after its had chance.  However, I don't think its stupid regardless of whether it works or not.

Not a lawn movie, I'll tell you that.  I've got what I consider some decent ideas for a guy that's not paid to come up with ideas. That mine are even close to being on par with this one is an indictment of Tech and not a pat on the wombat's back.

I have no issues with that; however, next time a homeless guy takes a dump on the sidewalk, be sure to give him at least as much credit.
