A couple of tidbits from the NFL combine...........
Kyle Long had the fourth fastest 40 for O-linemen at 4.93.
Dion Jordan has put on 22 lbs. since the Fiesta Bowl, going from 226 lbs., to 248 lbs., Report is if his quicks are still there, his stock is going to rocket up.
Way to go Ducks!

nice, dion can go much higher than he is projected now. He is supposedly a #4-5 overall. I said a while back that some team will take long pretty high because of his "upside". He is proving how physically imposing he can be and I think the fact that he picked up oregons offense so fast shows his ability to learn. He went from being a late draft pick up to around #40. I think he could go even higher. I think the fact that there are several ducks that will be drafted this yr shows where the NFL is going and the caliber of player that oregon(chip) has developed. This is the reason I believe prevot decided to come to oregon

I know that the S&C staff at Oregon expect him to (2 votes)
in the 4.4s. If he can a time in that range, he's going to be a top 5 pick for sure. It will be interesting to see if he ends up in Philly. The Rams really need O line help and have 2 picks in the 1st rd and you could see Kyle end up there. Be cool to be able to play with his bro. I also think Kiko is going to have a big day tomorrow WillametteDuck wrote: Kyle Long had the fourth fastest 40 for O-linemen at 4.93.

Just blows me away Jordan will be a top 10 pick. I know he is very good, but I didn't realize how good until draft talk started after the bowl games.
For those who don't recall, Jordan suffered 3rd degree burns on his legs and arms as a senior in HS but still was heavily recruited as a TE. What a journey that is about to pay off in a big way!

Barner measured in at 5-9 196 lbs. Ducks had him listed at 5-11. Hope that doesn't affect his draft status too much.

Hes a top 5 pick. Have to go back to Haloti to have a defensive player from Oregon go that high.

LMJ was measured at 5'8" 194lbs. and is considered a small back who will never be a #1 RB, and will be a change of pace back.
Barner is definitely going to be hurt by his measurements. He is an inch taller, but only 2lbs heavier.

Way to go Ducks! Wow, is it possible to pack on that much muscle mass in such a short period of time? that's about .5 lbs a day...

Re: A couple of tidbits from the NFL combine...........
We'll see where Jordan goes. But it took just one glance at Jordan on the field this year to conclude "THAT is an NFL player". I don't mean he could develop into one. I mean he was an NFL caliber player NOW. Namely NFL strength to go with the athleticism that was the end result of years in the Duck weight room. That is probably very appealing to NFL teams dealing with salary caps and roster limits. Go OR Ducks wrote: Just blows me away Jordan will be a top 10 pick. Prior to the spiking of the pass the game clock went to zero. The game is over.

Re: A couple of tidbits from the NFL combine...........
He weighed in at 240 in the summer. He just regained the weight he lost during the season and while hurt, plus 8 lbs.

Dion is now reportedly going to have surgery immediately after the combine for a torn labrum, but is expected to be ready for summer training camps. He will do everything at the combine except the bench press. The kid is tough, as he played the second half of this past season with the injury, so hopefully the NFL GM's take note and don't move him down the list.

Re: A couple of tidbits from the NFL combine...........
The fact that the NFL has gone to more of a passing league is a huge boost for a guy like Dion Jordan and it also doesn't hurt to see a guy like Aldon Smith, who has the same kind of build as Jordan, almost break the single season sack record last year. Jordan is the kind of player NFL teams drool over because he is long, extremely athletic and has the kind of frame that will allow him to put on pounds fairly easy. I also think Kiko is going to do VERY well because physically he is as good as it gets. The only thing that could possibly give him trouble is the mental testing but if he can get Aliott's system down I don't think he'll have too much trouble making the transition to the NFL.

Well, everybody conceded that Haloti was a top 5 talent. But there was a buzz going around just before the draft that he took plays off so he dropped. claw22 wrote: Haloti went like 12 or 13.

and if they redrafted today, Ngata would be a pretty easy #1 overall pick from that year.

Re: A couple of tidbits from the NFL combine...........
A lot of backs are shorter than commonly perceived, but succeed in the pros. How tall do you think Barry Sanders was? Ray Rice? Maurice Jones-Drew? Marshawn Lynch is under 6 feet. AD, at 6-1 or so, is the exception not the norm.

Dion ran a 4.5 hand held...4.6 official. Still faster than half the RB's and all the TE's

Lead story on the NFL.com Combine page: www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000...ine-40yard-dashAwesome to see Dion live up to the high expectations set for him. Would be awesome to see him end up back with Chip in Philly at #4!
