Football renewal

Football renewal

Got the email today. Looks like $469 per ticket. Premium tickets are Tennessee and CW at $99 each.

Plus they are lowering tickets in sections 25, 26, and 36 above row 80 to $333. Doesn't affect me but some will save money.

Priced it just abt right to try and cut back on the huge margin ticket brokers have been able to exploit based on what the tix are actually worth in the market and what the univ actually charges.

The ticket price increase isn't a giant issue, about $50 for the entire home season.  However, the donation requirements should also be considered as part of the cost since that expense can exceed the ticket price pretty easily.

I definitely include the donor price when determining the cost of tickets.  For my 4 seats, I think I pay something around $4300.  I think you may be more Marty?  To me, that comes out to about $153 per ticket per game.

When people see good tickets on stubhub, etc for $150-$200, it's not like the sellers are really making a profit.  Including donor levels, they are just breaking even.

The cost of a season ticket is less than the sum of the individual game ticket prices...that is a benefit. But, to actually value that benefit you have to attend all the games or be able to sell the ticket at face value for the games you can't attend.

A season ticket also has value from the consistency of sitting in the same location. For high demand games, your seat choice location may be unattractive when buying an individual game.

But, as noted by others, the season ticket must also consider paying a donation and facility fee. Those additions move the cost higher than buying the sum of individual tickets at face value.

For example, the cost for a 2 season seats around the 40-yard line on the north side with donation and fees: $2238.

Obviously it can be substantially higher elsewhere, and somewhat lower elsewhere, in Autzen.

Some other college venues price seats by location, but they often have a flatter donation requirement. While Oregon has a tiered donation requirement, and flatter ticket prices.

Of course, the cost of games is much higher than the ticket price and donation. Transportation, food, parking, and hotel particularly for those night games that have become more frequent with the rise in Oregon's profile.
