40+ years overdue.

Wouldn't have taken much in the beginning to plant some trees, etc to improve the look of a dirt berm.

Doesn't look much different as far as accessibility as it is now except it is elevated on the north exit.

Re: Autzen north side project update and artist's rendering

That was our concern as well. We were hoping for a wide staircase going right up the center similar to what's on the south side so people in sections 9-13 could go down the stairs while people in the corners or from the south side could still use the ramps. To me I still see long waits to get out of the stadium on the north side...

Possibly so.

D-Bags going on 10 straight wins over your flea-bitten, mangy mutts.

I know, I know, you guys are young.  It's a nice mid-season scrimmage  when U-DUB pops up on the schedule.

Put up another banner for your 10th consecutive offseason national championship yet?  When is your team going to mature as it seems like Sarkingham is always commenting about how young his teams are?

I doubt that. Autzen won't be expanding at least for another 5-10 years.

and unfortunately, if the Ducks have a couple of down seasons during that time, it could be 30-40 years before Autzen joins the "Big Boy" CFB stadiums in terms of size and revenue.

Fans were wondering why Oregon's assistant coaches are not paid as high as other elite CFB programs---look no further than small stadium size(which means less revenue and higher ticket prices for fans)

Mullens has stated many times that Oregon is at a distinct disadvantage by having a small stadium---both for scheduling Home and Homes, less available "affordable tickets" and lower overall athletic dept revenue.
-------------------------------------------------- -----
his words:
2011
"In making the case for the (football tickets)increase, Mullens made it clear in his e-mail that demand for tickets remains high. The Ducks’ sellout streak of 82 games is fourth-longest in the nation, while Oregon’s average attendance last season was first in the nation in relation to stadium capacity, at 109.9 percent. Oregon averaged 59,344 fans in Autzen Stadium, which has an official capacity of 54,000.

Mullens also noted that, while the Ducks finished fourth in the final national poll compiled by The Associated Press last season, the revenues generated by Oregon’s football program — $27.7 million, which helps support all UO teams — ranked No. 32 in the country."

-------------------------------------------------- ------------

I think the plan should start NOW for expanding Autzen's North side to make the stadium "minimum capacity to 70,000 permanent seats....with "gameday expand-ability" to 80,000(SRO or temp seats)---for HUGE games like USC, OSU and UW.

Phil Knight is probably getting ready to drop $150 million on the indoor track facility and improvements to Hayward for the World Championships...put those plans on hold and expand Autzen now while the team is hot and winning BCS games. Oregon track and field will always be an elite program--football is still on the bubble for the future. Get football over the hump now.

10 years from now might be too late. look what happened to OSU's Reser expansion dreams, they were talking about expanding to 55,000 within a couple of years---but after a couple of losing seasons, that plan wont happen for 25-30 years if ever!

get er done! be bold!

where is Pat Kilkenny when we need him as AD?
