Come on everybody, spread the word. Help RCD.. Tell them about the critique on educk. It should be easy with a little effort. Find out who is in charge...etc....
At this rate we can get new stuff by 2020.
OR...
Let's play like Chip Kelly.................and..........
WIN THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

magic...no offense, but I wish I knew what your post was all about...because for the life of me after reading it 3 times I have no clue.
Can you clarify what you're talking about for some of us?
thanks
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

I know Magic means well, but spending all this energy to try to motivate college kids, seems the supreme exercise in futility. Motivating the non student fans might have a better chance of a response.

Chemistry (3 votes)
Passionate support of a particular team is often a matter of chemistry. For example, there was just something about the Freddie-and-two-Lukes team that generated real excitement. It was similar, but a bit less so, with the Malik-era team. The current guys are having a great year (and yes, I have been to MKA to see them). But for me, the cast of characters just doesn't have the same appeal as some of the earlier teams. I can't explain it mentally; it's just a gut-level thing.
You used to go home from Mac Court still talking about a Fred Jones dunk ... or Ridnour's point-guard magic ... or Luke Jackson's overpowering performance against Colorado. I don't sense that same excitement with the admittedly very fine team we have in 2013. Again, in my humble opinion, it's "chemistry".

Re: Chemistry (2 votes)
Agreed.....But just getting the word out of changes shouldn't be too tough....IMO. There has to be a leader.
Tell the students that we used to hope to be close to as good as UCLA in the Pac 8 and Arizona and UCLA in the Pac 10. Now we should win the Pac 12 but we need all of their help.. Good grown-up cheers and noise.
Look like we care. I know it is difficult with all of the DUCKS outstanding success. Can you believe the Huskies over running the floor, jumping up and down when they beat a team that we handled easily??
As long as you are there do something worthwhile to help the team.
Magic
PS....Obviously I am talking about the Pit Crew and referring to my other posts. Sorry to confuse.

Re: Chemistry
Magic, that is kind of the point. The students are not aware, of, nor do many of them care about, this programs history. They care about NOW. James comments about chemistry is probably closer to reality than many of us want to admit. The feeling about the Pit Crews of old was an edgy, highly energetic group. The ones of the past few years are only marginally better than the older fans many here like to deride as being too laid back. I respect the effort to get someone involved, but efforts on a site like this are assured of little impact, because most fans, including the students, do not come here for information.

Well, maybe the university/athletic department could do the sort of thing they do at Autzen where they award a prize to a student showing the best school spirit through the apparel/costumes they wear.
Other fans might resurrect The Lone Ranger or something similar. Or stand up and shout and wave pom-poms or whatever :)
Meanwhile, if the team keeps winning and fans get to know the players better (there have been a lot of new players in the last year or three), support from students should come.

I go to the games at Matt. The students are engaged in their own way. If you plan on telling 18 year-olds how to root for their team, well - good luck with that.

They already do reward the student fan of the game.
