Re: Tyner short film

I keep reading about how Tyner is a one cut and then run back. I saw him do a lot of sideways dancing, quick side slides, juking and all sorts of DAT moves in this film. I actually started thinking, "Oh Thomas, you will have to unlearn some of that juking and learn to run more north/south at the college level." So what is with the knock on him that he is "only" a one cut and run back? I didn't see that. I saw too many cuts, which were pretty dang successful at the HS level I must admit.

RE: Tyner short film

One of the little things I like about Tyner's game is the simple fact that he uses both hands. I cringe at a RB that always holds the ball with either his right or left arm exclusively. I also like the way he effectively switches hands mid-stride by moving it across his body with an over-under switch. It's a simple, little thing, but there are RBs at all levels that don't do it.

I'm not sure what his TO numbers look like, but if he keeps up his current habit/technique we should see fewer fumbles than if he were to not switch hands.

One cut and go Post Rating (1 vote)

seems to have been the knock on Tyner from some. As in, that's all he can do. I saw him play in 2012 and while that MAY HAVE BEEN his game before his senior year he now has as much wiggle as a running back needs. I saw a guy who can do it all - one cut and GONE (and believe me when he cuts he's gone) OR shake and bake until a hole opens. If he stays healthy, a disclaimer for ALL college athletes, it will be so much fun to watch him develop.

I loved Jonathan Stewart but Tyner is a state of Oregon kid, and that makes me ever so slightly more excited to see him play. Thomas could have gone anywhere to play college football but he chose the Ducks. That means something to me!

+1

Think he can catch the football?
