Doogs: take classless to a new low (3 votes)
‘Dawg Pack Dirt’ suggests UW students heckle Arsalan Kazemi ‘in his native tongue’ dailyemerald.com/2013/02/13/da...-native-tongue/Doogs are truly the most disgusting so called fanbase. They have absolutely no self respect and are a complete embarrassment. They just continue to sh*t on themselves.

Shouldn't they learn English, first?

Come on MVRK (5 votes)
I was at a game my sophomore year where the entire student section was screaming, " YOUR SON HATES YOU" to Henry Bibby during Pre Game. They also tried to hire Gary Coleman to come to Mac Court and heckle Nate Robinson. I'm all for hating UW, but this is not that bad IMO mvrk22 wrote: ‘Dawg Pack Dirt’ suggests UW students heckle Arsalan Kazemi ‘in his native tongue’

I was at the Kevin Love game.
Which, for the record, I was right by his family. Barely a word was said to them (and there was especially no spitting on the grandmother, which UW fans like to make up - even though it was a UCLA-UO game).
But yeah this really isn't a big deal.
What WILL be great is if they do it on national television and Kazemi goes off (like Love did). Talk about an embarrassment on The Deuce for the Doogs!

How about when almost the entire uw student body wore Mexican hats during the Ernie Kent year. Even Romar felt the need to apologize.

I feel different about that. Ernie screwed up and it was public knowledge.
Honestly I wish the Pit Crew would go back to being clever.
Not necessarily classless.
Clever.
Add a new "advantage" to "home court advantage."

Re: Come on MVRK
you mean randomly booing a player for no reason every time he touches the ball isn't groundbreaking and edgy?

Re: Come on MVRK (1 vote)
I was at a game last week at NCU....the pit crew could do well by walking across the street to see one of their games and listen to the handful of students supporting their team.
Truly some of the most creative and funny stuff Ive seen at a college game in years.
All the high school sophmoric yells are so tiresome, "airball" "overrated" "he sucks" are just flat old and boring

Re: Come on MVRK
I remember that one! And all the student section slicking back their hair for Steve Lavin. I also remember the year of the second elite eight run, after Brooks had his incident with Appleby the year before and Appleby wouldn't accept his apology, some of us saw one of our own fans with a sign that said "Appleby has AIDS." There's funny and there's inappropriate. Glad marketing also saw that one pretty quickly and took it away. --------------------------------------------- --- phlduck wrote: I was at a game my sophomore year where the entire student section was screaming, " YOUR SON HATES YOU" to Henry Bibby during Pre Game. I'm not gonna lie, I laughed a little, too, even though it's clearly too far past the line.

Seems to be fairly typical of college-age basketball fans actually. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ --- AnotherNinkasi wrote: I was at the Kevin Love game. That is interesting, since published accounts that have been referenced over the years paint a completely different picture. Are there others here who were there? I'd like to hear from them because Duck haters frequently bring up the incident (or non-incident).

Re: Come on MVRK
That was the single greatest performance by a student section in the history of college sports.

Re: Doogs: take classless to a new low
I'm sure there were some comments but I was right there. If you recall, the visitor player family section (several rows up from the bench) at Mac Court was in the corner, just to the left of where the student section ended (or to the right if you're looking from the Pit Crew). I was right behind them. Stan Love, and Kevin's brother wearing his McDonalds All-American jersey and taunting the crowd. The "Love's a pu$$y" chant is the "homophobic slur" that people refer to. --------------------------------------------- --- FerrisBuhler wrote: --- mvrk22 wrote: ‘Dawg Pack Dirt’ suggests UW students heckle Arsalan Kazemi ‘in his native tongue’ dailyemerald.com/2013/02/13/da...-native-tongue/Doogs are truly the most disgusting so called fanbase. Stan did nothing to attract attention at all, just the 3 layer strip tease of UCLA gear he was wearing, no wonder crapzano loves the piece of crap. AnotherNinkasi wrote: I was at the Kevin Love game.

I was there. About 10 rows up from the Loves. There was some over the top stuff directed at Kevin, but not one verbal attack on his family that I noticed...btw I'm a huge Beach Boy fan. FerrisBuhler wrote: --- mvrk22 wrote:

--------------------------------------------- Ernie did screw up and everyone knew it, but I did feel bad for Jordan who was on the team at the time. I'm sure that whole situation was hard on him, and the actions of the Husky student section probably weren't too helpful. The Kevin Love thing was awful and the students who participated should of been permanently banned from the student section. I don't know if there was truly anything directed to the family, but the stuff directed towards Kevin was not OK at any level. Chants throughout the game of "Love's a pu***" and "Love's a fa****" was a low point for the Pit Crew. I think the Pit Crew has actually got a little better in recent years. They're not great, but they're certainly better than they were.

Re: Come on MVRK
I hate the UDUMP as much as anyone but I have to admit that when Loyd went down with the injury with just over a minute to go....when he got up to head back to the bench the crowd clapped for him. I was in shock.

People aren't going to like that I brought this up. The only time I felt embarrassed for the Pit Crew was when they heckled Kevin Love. Those chants made my skin crawl, really embarrassing.
