It is hard to take people's assessment of Singler for example when they claim his shot "was blocked" or that he shot an "air ball."

The defender clearly hit his forearm, which was a foul that went uncalled.

All that aside, everyone knows we have a point guard that is zero threat to shoot, and who can't really beat anyone off the dribble.

Our big guys have very little post game, which is weird for guys who have played B-ball for several years. You should be able to do something down there without necessarily being an all-star.

We also keep doing this looping thing at the top of the key which is an exercise in futility, because the dribbler does a poor job of rubbing his man off by dribbling too far away from his team mate, and his team mate makes little effort to actually set a screen.

Nobody is getting open for good shots because there is very little effective screening going on to free anyone up.

And STUPID pass after STUPID pass is a coaching issue.

Re: I know people care, but...

Singler took a really bad shot, and he was fouled on the play, but it should have never gone down to that last play to win the game.
There was no offense at all from the guys in the last 2 minutes of the game. This is now a common sight to behold with this team. In almost every end of a game, the guys look lost, confused, and unsure as to what they are wanting to do.
They are playing not to lose, instead of playing to win.
This is Altman's doing. It is his job to create a closing minutes game plan to be effective and win. He and the team are not doing that.
With what we have seen in the last 3 games, this team is regressing from what they were 2-3 weeks ago.
When you have no go-to guys and playmakers on the floor- especially in the closing moments of the game, it's almost impossible to win, baring a miracle.
As of now, this is at best, a one and done NIT team, that is plummeting downward at a very fast rate of speed.

"This is Altman's doing. It is his job to create a closing minutes game plan.."

If you listen to him in his post-game radio interviews it is clear he is very frustrated. The game plan is communicated, the players are not executing.

Unlike Ernie, Altman makes no excuses, and he clearly defines what did not happen that was supposed to happen.

I imagine that the post-game lockerroom is not a happy venue for the players the last 2 games in particular.

Oh please...so Altman has gone from one of the most respected basketball strategists and X's and O's coaches (per college coaches) to one that is inept with the game on the line?...according to you and some others. Unbelievable!

Altman has proven himself to be an excellent coach. But he can't go out and execute his plan. That is on the players, and right now they don't have anyone that can break down an opposing player on the floor to create gaps and mismatches, to drive and kick. Thats pretty much it in a nutshell...and you cannot run a pick and roll if the the person with the ball is not respected as a scorer (Lloyd)..they will slough off the pick and play the roller. If Dotsun was still shooting the ball well, this streak would be a streak of one...but he's lost confidence in his shot for some reason...Ej'S playing hurt, and the rest are all role players.

Altman cannot do it himself...if they don't listen, or if they take things upon themselves, we get a 3 game or longer losing streak.

This team is only as good as the sum of ALL of it's parts. when the parts break down, so does the team. It's that simple.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
