I take it back

I take it back Post Rating (9 votes)

We aren't average without Artis. No energy, poor playcalling again by Altman at end of game and no fan interest. I am bitter Duck fan.

I told everybody we aren't making the tourney this year. Our hoops program is a disaster.

If Artis really is back next week we will close 5-2 and make it.  But when it comes to offense this is like watching the 07 football team minus Dixon...it is really bad without him.

I don't even think Artis has anything to do with our last two losses. We blew leads at the end in both games. The Stanford game was probably winnable with Artis, but the last two was winnable without him.

This team is clueless and inept on offense now- especially on the final possession to get the lead back.
No direction, and no leadership on the floor- not even from Singler.
Very bad loss tonight, and very damaging. That makes 3 in a row, with many more to come without Artis.
If we go 2-8 in our last 10 games, we won't make it in.
Altman looked like he took the last couple of minutes off with some unexplained and uncharacteristically poor coaching.
Bad night from everyone all the way around.

Say goodbye to staying in the top 25. Our only hope to garner some votes would be a dominating win on Saturday. We need to play better than .500 ball from here on out to secure a NCAA bid.

Re: I take it back Post Rating (2 votes)

Singler played a huge part in this loss.  Last 4 possessions - he threw the ball away, passed the ball to the guy with the broken thumb with 1 second left on the shot clock, offensive foul, missed shot (air ball) to end the game.  Oh, and it was his man that drove easily to the basket to set up the game-winning basket for Colorado.

I think he also finished with only 2 points in the second half.

Just got back from the game. Man we suck bad!!!!!! 47 points? I don't care if Artis is hurt or not. If we can't score more than 47 points we suck!!!!!!!!!!! I go to every game but this was the most disappointing lack of effort I've seen in an Altman team. NIT team at the best right now. Very sad performance by this team. No effort at all.

So thats your idiotic motivation? your desperate need for attention and verification that somehow you are right? news flash. even a broken clock is right twice a day.

will you step up and admit you're a fool when this team makes the tournament? I doubt it.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

What about the empassioned plea to support this special team this season? I think part of the reason why support was so low was that a lot of people hadn't bought into this team yet. They looked shiny on the outside but the engine was weak.

The rest of the Pac-12 smells blood in the water.

None of you really understand how the tourney selection committee works. Barring an epic collapse down the stretch (meaning like 2-7 in our next 9) this team is in.

The committee looks at the body of work with your best players (if they come back from injury). When Artis comes back and we play better (we certainly will--how could we play any worse?), they will not look at this rough stretch too closely.

Seriously, I know the team looks like as*hole right now. But some of you need to step away from the ledge.

I couldn't disagree more. We had no chance against Stanford the way we played the game, but we lost tow very close games because we have no PG and no 3 point shooter without Artis. With him, no doubt in my mind we win the last two games.

Hey idiot. This team is not in yet. We have to go on the road at Washington and there are two losses right there. We are on the bubble the way we are playing the rest of the 2nd half. Altman better light a fire in this team. The last 3 games we have played like a junior high team in the last 4 minutes of the game. We should be embarrassed by the lack of effort and execution. This team just doesn't want it as bad as our opponents. Singler is playing like a high school freshman. What a joke.

RE: I take it back Post Rating (3 votes)

yea that post makes no sense....We didn't score the last 4 minutes of the Cal game and didn't score the last 3 minutes (I think) tonight....The end of the game is when all the offense runs through your PG....Artis is our PG....

Put some money on it then. I guarantee this team will make the tournament.

Re: I take it back Post Rating (3 votes)

The tournament selection committee looks at your last 10 games of the season to determine if you make it in, and without Artis, we will not make it in.
It's that simple.
Teams in similar circumstances to ours that went 2-8 late in the season failed to make it in, and that is where we are now.
We have what- 8 games left in our regular season? Unless we win at least 4 of those, we will be excluded on selection Sunday, short of winning the P12 tournament.
What a big letdown and great disappointment that will be.
