RE: Riley rips another scholarship
Kahler already addressed your misinformation about the kid from Eugene. He didnt do what was expected , and that is why he isn't making a fuss about it.
You stated in your subject line that Riley yanked Neilsons scholly...and you were wrong. Still awaiting the list of players Riley has 'booted'

Back to the drawing board? really? we have had players leave of course, during the off season, The Ducks have "1" JC for this year. Players will leave our program, as they do yours. JC's will suit up, as they do at Oregon

As far as being over the 85 limit, no signee is on scholarship until practice starts in August. Some may accept a grayshirt. Perhaps another won't qualify. Scholarships will open up from current players who graduate with eligibilty remaining and leave school, or who transfer, or who don't make grades, or who leave for whatever other reason.
Come the start of practice, OSU will have 85 players on scholarship, the legal limit. And some on this board will have to find another straw man to flail at. But thanks for your concern.</blockquote>

Okay...so players leave Oregon on their own volition, but are drummed out at Oregon State. Siunds to me like you guys are the morally and ethically superior program.
I will take your word on all of this, given your sterling track record

I consider you a representative of beaver nation, and as such you are party to all the of the morally pure posts you and your brethren have bequeathed upon this forum!!! If you seriously think that 99.9% of your fan base doesn't think that they are the most bestest, honest fans in the world? well then,.....you're a Duck. jrlaco wrote: Also..cite one example where I have ever claimed we were a morally superior program than yours.

Didn't do what was expected? what was that exactly? not being as fast or have as good as footwork as a kid from Cali? You guys should take a lesson from Bellotti who took a 2a kid from a small coastal town named Donte Rosario, I remember all the bs from the beavs that he was reaching and that it was a publicity stunt, he was in your backyard,.....he got a scholarship jrlaco wrote: Kahler already addressed your misinformation about the kid from Eugene. RE: Riley rips another scholarship
the scholarship offer was conditional on him losing weight...he and his parents both signed off on it. He didnt honor his end of the deal and the consequences were spelled out.
You sure do remember a lot of stuff.

I enjoy a non sequitur as much as the next guy, but geography is a pet peeve. Rosario was from Dayton, Dayton is not a small coastal town. You did get the small town part right though.
What I believe has happened here is you're confusing Rosario's story with that of Jordan Poyer who really does come from a small coastal town. He was not recruited by Bellotti, he was recruited by Riley to OSU where he became an All-Conference DB and is weeks away from being a high NFL draft pick.

Before I lock this thread...
Kahler is correct and every football program has attrition, whether a kid transfers, graduates early, quits because of injuries or flunks out. Often recruits enroll early too and are counted against the previous class, which is what USC did this year. The number of players on scholarship will only matter when the new class enrolls for fall practice. FWIW, the Oregon coaches don't complain about how OSU recruits, etc. However, many schools do a lot of negative recruiting including one NW school that Oregon fans don't like much anyway...
