Drop end is going to be an interesting position going forward. Tony Washington is the leader here and I don't want to take anything away from him because he is athletic as hell. However, I am not sure about him covering the slot and doing what Rowe and Jordan did. I like Washington in run support and pass rushing but not sure about coverage. French made stride last year and Carriger, from what I've heard, did work on the scout team. I remember reading somewhere that he is opened some eyes. Now, with Prevot coming to campus, you gotta wonder about this logjam.

In reality, we can probably just use these guys situationally. Tony has played as high as 265 and could be more of the traditional 3/4 OLB, while we use guys like Carriger and French as the versatile drop ends. I know some people have been down on French but he seemed to play well towards the end. He caught my eye in the fiesta bowl. I see Prevot getting on the field as a pass rush specialist kinda like Rowe in his first year.

Anyway, it will be a nice logjam. No one will be a Jordan but the depth will be very nice.

There is no logjam. The best players will play. We'll continue to rotate a ton. This is exactly why we say "next man in."

In short, there is no logjam.

Tony played the whole second half in the Fiesta Bowl, and I thought he played exceptionally well. He played the full defense that Jordan normally filled. I am anxious ro see him play this coming year
