Beavis lose being able to play one of their wholesomeness cards (2 votes)
Recall how in the last several years it was so wholesome, honorable and pure like the wind driven snow to give in state kids a chance to play football within their own state. "We go after the in state recruits" was the Beavis's rally cry of honor.
Beavis did not sign one in state recruit this time around.
Most in state kids now days follow the Ducks anyway.

I just remember it being a 50 thread post on pure-crap.net last year on how morally proper it was to recruit close to home.

--------------------------------------------- And it will be again someday, especially when they sign a couple three stars, and Giles gets down off the cross and blesses it.

That's been such a myth lately (4 votes)
Since 2010, Oregon has 11 LOI signees compared to OS with just 5.
It was never important to them but it was just something to grasp when they thought it was a strike against Oregon. In the end, it never really mattered - nor should it in my opinion.

They don't particularly like you over there on pure-crap.net. What did you do to get in their panties and wad them all up? Those dolts over there never knew that Beevurmobile was Freddie Kruger over there. He has been playing them left and right with several alias over there and they still dont get it. I thought he would have stop now he has no place to go ...but no!

team family values got a commitment from churchill high school offensive linemen skylar phillips back in october, but they called him up two weeks ago and said they no longer thought he'd be a good fit. to the kid's credit he seems to have handled it very well, that had to be devastating.

I'm sure bowelboy has already posted something regarding this post, not the link of course,..because that would make him look like the liar he truly is. Webbster wrote: What a scum bag that Riley character is. That kind of rude arrogant behavor will get you thrown out of Mayberry (wink)

Right Benny? I seriously doubt Kempt would be at OSU had he not spent so much time in Oregon and played at Aloha HS. There were no Oregon HS grads in the class. That is perfectly fair.

Re: Beavis lose being able to play one of their wholesomeness (3 votes)
Kempt was going to the University of Cincinnati until the coaching change and he was told by the new coach there was not a place for him. Since it was pretty late the family began contacting other schools and OS was one of the schools that responded. A number of things attracted him to OS, he ran into friends from Aloha there and the Engineering Program. If you read the linked article it would seem the Engineering program would have been the bigger attraction since he has a 4.0 average and will probably be the Valedictorian for his class and he wants to study Engineering. He considers Ohio to be his home. Kyle Kempt, Ohio boy ---Daisy

Please to list the four players who had their scholarships "pulled" last year.
Phillips was given a conditional scholarship offer, dependent on him losing some weight, a caviat he and his family agreed to. He did not; in fact he made little or no effort to get into better shape. So the offer was rescinded. This ain't intramurals, brother.

Re: Beavis lose being able to play one of their wholesomeness
Oregon State recruits from OR: 2009, 4 (Poyer to NFL combine) 2010, 2 2011, 1 2012, 2 2013, 0
The pattern is trending downward for the Beavs:P
Oregon recruits from OR: 2009, 1 (Hart) 2010, 2 (Lowe) 2011, 3 (Lyerla) 2012, 3 2013, 3 (Tyner)
The pattern is trending up and steady for the Ducks:)

Re: Beavis lose being able to play one of their wholesomeness
The top tier in-state recruits have done very well at the high Division1 level and Oregon has been cleaning up lately. We should only expect that to continue with Helfrich at the helm, as long as Oregon remains competitive nationally.
