They told us.... (10 votes)
...we got lucky with The Pick ...we would fall back into obscurity when Brooks went to the NFL ...that Bellotti guy isn't a good coach ...that Bellotti guy IS a good coach, but when he leaves, you will be nothing ...you can't recruit with the Big Boys ...Jonathan Stewart was a lucky, one time get ...you're a flash in the fan and use "trick plays" ...Who's this Chip Kelly guy? Your run is over ...an unknown coach won't be able to recruit nationally ...Chip Kelly is a great coach, but when he leaves, you will be nothing ...even before the hammer drops, recruiting will be dead ...the Twins are coming to Seattle ..."We're Back'!!!!!
How's that working for ya?

RE: They told us....
If you don't know who "they" are then you are not a Duck fan.
After Chip Kelly was promoted to head coach in 2009, all 64 recruits signed to letters of intent by the Ducks in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes qualified academically.

I like your style GG. You keep hanging in there...
Curious, what are your early, early 2013 predictions for UW and UO records?
I have:
Oregon - 10-2 UW - 7-5

I'd say Oregone 11-1 UW 8-4... I think your team could be actually better this coming year then last year. Pisses me off. But that's how I see it.

RE: They told us....
Actually we'd have to go 12-0 to consider ourselves better this year. See, at UO we do this crazy thing of judging how good our team is based on wins. ;)

I'm more curious about his predictions for the next off-season now that UW has wrapped up this year's off-season national championship again.
The Doogs really have a leg up on the competition because they are able to start defending their off-season title every September. By the time they hit their spring game they are pretty much unstoppable.

RE: They told us....
I think 7 win Steve goes 6-6 or 7-5. The bowl game outcome will be determined by that number. Sark knows according to UW, 7 wins is house money, and all he needs to do is break even. 6-6 regular season will lead to a "gutsy" win in the New Mexico bowl, followed by a contract extension. A 7-5 regular season will lead to a "hard fought" loss in the Vegas Bowl or Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, followed by a contract extension. Good ole Woody loves to judge by incremental progress. Because everyone knows 7-6 in 2013>7-6>7-6>7-6.
Playing in mid December is special!!!

You obviously will never go 12-0. So that's why I figured 11-1. We did though.

And Triple G, you also went 0-12! Never ever happened before. Not Coogs, not Buffs, not Beavs, just Doogs. That record will stand alone.

So it's your conclusion that when people repeat something you say and laugh its because it "bothers" them.
That's a good one.
Don't worry it's almost the future or something and washingtons bound to be good again someday... I mean they just have to be right?

Does anyone remember "the Oregon Myth"?
That was mutt fan Bill Fleenor's treatise on how Oregon had built their reputation on propaganda, and was destined to sink back into mediocrity as soon as the haze lifted from people's eyes.
What was that, 10 or 15 years ago? I bet that would be a kick to read. Poor Fleenor tied himself in knots telling everybody how Oregon was pulling the wool over the media's eyes. And that was BEFORE the Ducks marketing really kicked into high gear.
