Conflict of Interest....
It is very strange that the head of the body that holds the power to "kill" a football program's former job was president of a school that wants to believe they are number one.
I am sure Mr Emmert is an impeccable man to be trusted at the highest level.
BUT........
In any business this would be called a....
CONFLICT OF INTEREST...

Emmert is a career bureaucrat and is a major cause of what is wrong with the NCAA. This is how the NCAA operates. Bunch of privileged white folks who yuk it up over putting the screws to black kids who are just trying to make it though the day.
Meanwhile, Emmert and his gang of rich folks get rich off of the public dime while punishing kids and their schools for a fraction of what Emmert and his band of thieves make off of the NCAA's largess from the public.

Secondly, it's the schools themselves that vote on the rules, and the schools that vote on who sits on the infractions committee and rules committee. So basically it's the schools themselves that are "putting the screws to black kids" to quote you. which is wrong.
who would you blame if there were no ncaa? is the nba screwing the black man? the nfl? the players get billions in salaries (total) yet very very few players are successful, many file bankruptcy after a few years after their career is over, whose fault is that?
while I don't like the ncaa, nor emmert, your comment imo is pretty shallow.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Seems like a pretty ridiculous non-sequiter. NBA and NFL players are getting paid large sums of the money that is being brought into their sport. What they do with it is really their problem. I don't think PDX needed to throw race into the mix. What he said was hyperbolic, but not so far off base in the main point that the NCAA is run by out of touch plutocrats that don't have the student athlete's best interest in mind.

Emmert was at the Cal/Oregon Bball this past Saturday. I passed him in the hallway before the game.
The guy is a weird looking dude. Reminds me of John Edwards. He obviously spends a lot of time on his hair. Looked like he'd just gotten a full facial, scrub or chemical peel.
Guys that spend that amount of time and effort on their appearance, especially middle-aged guys, are always a big red flag with me.
