Re: Ohio state (1 vote)
You guys really hate my Buckeyes.
Why such seething resentment?
We seriously hardly ever play, and rarely, and I mean rarely cross paths in recruiting.
To some of the other Buckeye fans in this thread....Wilson will be mostly a slot in our offense. He will get some carries, but will be used like Meyer used Harvin. His commitment has no bearing on our current RB situation.

You go to war with the army you have, not the army you want. It is what it is. We will still win plenty of games.

You are fine, Bowtie. Some peevish folks that haven't gotten over losing Chip, and now lose a kid most of us really wanted. If Urban sees him strictly as a WR, that candidly is a better use of his talent, because he is/was not going to get many touches in either program from the RB position. Truthfully, the more I look at both situations, it was not a lock he would have been assured much early PT in either program.

Wilson will play early at tOSU
He will get some touches this year, and will probably need a year to bulk up to be a major weapon though.
The thing is we don't have many guys on our roster with his skill set. So Urban will find ways to get the ball in his hands asap. I would expect hell get a shot at returning kicks and punts as well.
You guys have DAT, he wasn't jumping him that's for sure. I think he has the opportunity to get more touches early at TOSU than Oregon.

My experience, as well. Glad to read Buckeye comments on this turn of events. I am disappointed that CK's departure led to Wilson commiting elsewhere. I think the kid is really talented and it would have been interesting how he developed in Oregon's offense. We would have been a better team with him, I would expect. Don't know if he would have played in 2013, though. His dad said his son wanted to sign with the program where he would get important PT the soonest.

Re: Ohio state
Wilson would have been useful next year, but he really is similar to Addison...and is the vain of Dat and Huff but is not of their caliber at this point. 17 year olds gonna do what 17 year olds gonna do. Good luck to Mr. Wilson, I hope he has success! Now if the twins go to the Huskies I will not be so reasonable lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Ohio state
Agree and can't blame him. We have arguably the best HS RB in the country coming in this year and just a wealth of talent on O coming back. Heck, your "Heisman candidate" wouldn't even start on our team so no doubt he will have the chance to get the rock in his hands early and more often in Columbus.
Unfortunately for him our offense is set up perfectly to utilize his talent and allow him to excel but c'est la vie

You self-righteous Bucks are adorable.
You think Oregon fans care about the depth chart of OSU and the effect Wilson will have on it?
Cool.
As I said earlier, congrats on getting Wilson.

Ehhh not trying to flame here but for our system I would take Miller all day over Mariota. Miller is a much better runner, and Urban's system utilizes those strengths very, very well.
Dont get me wrong, Mariota is a great young QB, top 5 in the nation. And he IS a better passer than Miller RIGHT NOW.....but Im still taking Miller every day.
From the way you talk about him, Id say you know very little about Braxton Miller.
Anyways Ill get flamed for that, but I dont care. This is an Oregon board, so I should expect stuff like that.
Congrats on the solid signing day.

No one would expect you to favor MM over Miller, but then it makes no difference. MM is our QB, and we favor him over Miller, so all is good.

Haha ok. If that's how you interpreted my post then ok.
I live in Oregon and watched Mariota all season. I know I have watched MM more than you have watched BM.
I just said your QB is top 5 in the nation as a RS Soph. Also said he is a better passer than Miller as well.
If you think MM is as elusive as Miller, then I dont know what to tell you. Very, very good running QB, but not Miller. BM is the perfect fit for our offense, MM is the same for yours.
I come in peace. But that doesn't mean I cant disagree. We should have a better feel for this after the upcoming season though, as both QB's will be in their 3rd year.
