Ah......come on I'Card and all my fellow Card fans. Don't fall into the fair weather trap. I just read a synopsis of the game (I missed it) and it sounds like the Cards, particularly Kurt, just had a bad day. Happens to any team on any given Sunday.

Hey Red reading a synopsis does not come close to what actually happened against the Panthers. Saying Kurt just had a bad day is an understatement. It might have been his worse day ever (Five picks, ties his worst, and throw a fumble in on top of that)!
Against the Bears? Seems like our best friend this year are opposing teams fields. Go figure and Go Cards!!

Re: Cardinals @ Bears
Bad day for Kurt is an understatement. He didn't play very smart (fumble should have been a throw away). Not to mention all the batted down balls by Carolina. That game would have been a great time to stick Matt into the game for some good experience. We missed a golden opportunity to put some distance between us and the 49ers! Doesn't get any easier with the Bears coming up. Go Cards!!

Meanwhile watching the Saints tonight on MNF was a real education for this fan and reminds me of what our Cards are lacking (which I thought they had turned the corner on), and that's the spark that comes with winning. The Saints aren't playing like a team that's undefeated.........they are playing like a team determined to get their first win. BIG DIFFERENCE! Maybe it's a maturity thing, but whatever it is that causes our team to be so inconsistant needs to get fix in a hurry now, because we're coming up on the halfway mark with very little room for second chances.

Re: Cardinals @ Bears
Maybe this inconsistant play, is we have players that just don't love to play football and need to be motivated. Just playing for the paycheck. Last year when we got on the playoff roll, our guys really wanted to win!!

Re: Cardinals @ Bears
We win the TO battle we win the football game. Warner IMO has not been the same QB this year, very inconsistent. Last year he was able to throw the football with percision with pressure coming at him while this year he has been a very average QB across the board. It may be getting close to seeing what Leinart can do. Seems to me when Warner doesnt have security of being the starter he plays better. This year deservable was the starter with nothing he had to do. I say open it up and tell Warner unless you make better decisions on the field Leniart is going to get a shot to start! That may wake his azz up and quite being a pedistrian QB thus far. JMO Sure if you give him 5 seconds to throw the ball he will pick you apart. Yea, well that is not going to happen with our OL. We need a healthy dose of Beannie Wells and control the clock while trying to stay as balanced as possible with run/pass. Heck I would take 60/40 pass to run. Most likely Q will be out of the lineup this week and even if he is in the game he is only 50% at best. Where is that team that left NY playing like it was a game to go to the SB? We need a leader like Ray Lewis that will get in your grill when you screw up. Our leaders Q, Fitz, Warner, Adub lead by example, thats fine but we need a yeller like Ray Lewis. Somone who commands respect and demands his teamates to be accountable to each other. I dont know if we have anyone on our team that fits that description?
Winning is the formula for Success!!!

One expert has us only getting field goals tommorrow. Another has us only scoring one TD. We are surely the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL..........

You never know which team is going to show up and until they can bring more consistancy to the table, they will be the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL.

Not too shaby of a first half............Our capabilities are being utilized and executed. Kudos to the OL. Now, maintain this in the second half.

Re: Cardinals @ Bears
Now if we can put together a few games like we played the first half, we could be unstoppable. Go Cards!!!!

duecer54 wrote:Now if we can put together a few games like we played the first half, we could be unstoppable. Go Cards!!!! I came away from this game elated AND with some mixed feelings (observations, not criticism).
1) they proved what I've believed all along: that Wells could set the tone for us to run the ball.......and that Hightower would play even better as a result (the 1-2 punch I predicted in my other post). 2) we still haven't grasps how to finish off an opponent, and too often tend to let opponents get back into the game 3) our inconsistancy isn't due solely to a lack of effort, but rather because in certain respects we are still a work in progress (at least IMO). we certainly have the talent and weapons 4)we virtually have to play mistake free football to assure a win. This was a great awakening for the Cards, and I hope it serves as a building block for the remainder of the season. GO CARDS!

Re: Cardinals @ Bears
I must admit that the Cards played a very well executed first half. During the second half I see this is where the team needs additional work. It seemed the team really did not want to finish this team off. Our defense was still holding up their end of the bargain but the offense seemed to get sluggish and started to rack up penalties. Especially when Warner made a great play for a first down to get out of the end zone and Gandy has a penalty.
I was very surprised that after a few dead end drives Wisenhut decided to take Warner out with 9:40 left to play. That is way to early. Whisenhut has tried this before with disasterous results. It would have been best to wait until the last 5 minutes of the game. Leinart's interception could have been the turning point of this game and gave the bears the opportunity to get back in this game.
The risk of failure is great, but the risk of not making the necessary changes to improve ones self will surely spell disaster!
