2009 NFL Superbowl, Saints / Colts @ Miami Fl.

OMG I can't believe I'm actually starting this Thread! Still in shock from last night. Our New Orleans Saints will be making their first Superbowl appearance in Miami Fl, facing Mr. Manning and the vaunted Indianapolis Colts! I'm not gonna into X's and O's yet. I think were the more complete Team but with Manning behind center that means squat. So we've got 2 weeks to look forward to this. Talk it up, enjoy every second! WHO DAT BABY! BLACK AND GOLD SUPERBOWL!

He did just average over 300 yards, threw 5 td's and only 1 pick against the top 2 D's in the league in the first two playoff games.  So he isn't too shabby.

By my name you could guess that I am a Tennessee Vols and N.O. Saints fan but in way am I going to pull for Peyton on 2/7/10. Living in Knoxville that is all I have heard today how the colts are going to win and Peyton is the greatest player ever.blah2blah2blah2 Everyone wants to tell me that the better team lost last night but I asked them what was the final score. banghead Had to hear about if the Vikes did not have all the TO they blow us out but I ask them isn't TO part of the game and the team that takes advantage of them normally win the game.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

WHO DA!!!!!!!!! GO SAINTS

Even the NFL should be happy about this matchup, the best team from the NFC against the best team from the AFC, just like it should be, but seldom is. ESPN may have wanted to continue the Favre-fest, but the two best teams will be there.  I am certainly rooting for the Saints-but Peyton Manning can scare anybody to death. The entire game may settle on who wins the chess match, Manning-or Gregg Williams. If Williams can disguise the blitzes and get to Manning often-the Saints could put a world of hurting on the Colts. The Saints will have to have a balanced attack, you don't want Freeney and Mathis putting on their track shoes for the passrush. I'm not even going to guess at a prediction on this one, under the right circumstances, either team could win by a blowout-or we could get another OT game. Should be fun to watch.

I believe we took away some storylines that the media wanted to continue with the Favre saga...I'm tired of hearing how the better team lost...rather than the better team won...THE two best teams ARE playing in the Superbowl...THE two BEST quarterbacks are playing against each other...the two #1 seed teams are facing off against one another....it doesn't get any better than that....biggrin

I will say I am already tired of the Katrina (the hurricane, not the poster) stories.  Hurricane vs the greatest QB ever...yawn, if that is the best the media can do.

But yall are right.  First, it was Warner playing top level, but don't forget about Brees.  Then, Farve having his best season ever, but don't forget about Brees, and now Manning a step above the rest, but don't forget about Brees.

Brees has been an afterthought in three straight games.

If they want to show some pictures of the current situation of the damage recovery, ok, but they really need to tone down the Katrina storyline.

Yeah, it just seems like the media wants everyone to feel sorry for us.  We do not need any more sympathy.  Don't get me wrong.  The people effected by Katrina appreciate EVERYTHING that was done for them, but that was then and this is now.

Media....quit blaming Bush (George Jr), and MOVE ON...New Orleans is gonna be ok.

Oh yeah, the Saints are going to the Super Bowl.....no freakin way that even sounds real in January, August maybe, but not January.

I mean, I turn on ESPN or the NFL network, and guess who they are talking about.....how cool is that?
