Week 9 Carolina @ Saints

Week 9 Carolina @ Saints

The Carolina Panthers make their way to the Superdome Sunday. While the Saints are going for a Franchise best 8 - 0. In order to do so the Saints will have to cut down on costly penalties and Turnovers. Also with Fujita and Ellis out their back ups are gonna have to step it up against Carolina's 2 headed Monster. Another tough divisional Game for us.

JoLonn Dunbar-LB- Saints Nov. 3 - 8:11 am et

JoLonn Dunbar started in place of OLB Scott Fujita (calf) in Monday night's win over the Falcons.
It was Dunbar's first start of the season and he finished with three tackles. We're just guessing, but Fujita will probably be ready to take back his spot on the strong side for this week's game against the Panthers.
Related: Scott Fujita
John Carney-K- Saints Nov. 3 - 8:07 am et

Saints K John Carney missed a 37-yard field goal in Monday night's win over the Falcons.
Carney also missed one in Week 7, although that one was from 49 yards out. Still, the veteran could be in danger of losing his job with Garrett Hartley ready to go. Hartley made all 13 of his field goal attempts last season.
Lance Moore-WR- Saints Nov. 3 - 8:04 am et

Lance Moore bruised his shin in Monday night's win over the Falcons.
We didn't see the injury happen. It's hard to tell if Moore was forced to leave the game because he's playing in such a heavy rotation. Until one of the Saints' receivers gets hurt, Moore isn't an option in fantasy anyway.
Jonathan Goodwin-G- Saints Nov. 3 - 8:00 am et

Saints C Jonathan Goodwin just has a knee contustion, according to coach Sean Payton.
It looked bad for Goodwin and the Saints when he got rolled into by his own man with just 1:02 remaining in the game. But the Saints aren't concerned and he should be ready to go for this week's game against the Panthers.

We're definitely gonna need as many healthy guys as we can get. Carolina has owned us and it's time for some payback.

Re: Week 9 Carolina @ Saints

There are some chinks in the armor with the injuries to Ellis and Evans and the number of turnovers the last two games. Carolina won't be as easy as first expected especially with their running game. Fujita back will help, but guys have to keep containment on Deangelo and Jonathan Stewart.

Offense needs to stop turning the ball over. Everyone from Brees to Pierre to Bell and others have to stay focused. Carolina forced 6 TOs from Kurt Warner so the offense needs to pay special attention on avoiding turnovers otherwise Carolina could pull an upset. Remember, Minnesota is only a game back in the race for homefield so a win is important.

I don't think there's such a thing as an easy win in the NFC South.

This game could be intresting... Our run D pretty much sucks (it wasn't that good even with Ellis) and that's the one thing Carolina does good.... This one is gonna be tough.

Re: Week 9 Carolina @ Saints

Anyone know if Delhomme is gonna play?  I don't know how bad he was hurt.  We could use some INT's.

Like always we have to score early and often to help neutralize their run game and make them play catch up with the pass.  Also our O needs to find a more consistent rythm throughout the entire game.  We struggled a little out the gate after halftime last nite.  If we could have punched in an early touchdown on our first drive after half we would have taken a 21 point lead and could have stepped on their throats a little.

Jake Delhomme-QB- Panthers Nov. 2 - 1:10 pm et
Jake Delhomme was in a good mood and appeared no worse for wear Monday despite his Week 8 chest injury.
Delhomme took a big shot to the ribs on a "jump" pass to FB Brad Hoover in Sunday's win. X-rays came back negative and he probably isn't in any danger of sitting out Week 9. "Look at that," he said. "Sun's shining. Sky's blue."

Re: Week 9 Carolina @ Saints

Thanks for the injury update.  Maybe we can get a couple of more pick 6's.  Looking back I think our D has 6 TD's so far this year.  Need a few more.....

Re: Week 9 Carolina @ Saints

If Jake is hurting then you know G.W will be dialing up the pressure. On the other hand it just means Carolina will work that much harder to establish the Running Game. We will definitely need to get out of the Gate fast in this Game.
