5 things that stood out from Saints' practice Tuesday

biggrin

EDIT:

2. Ball on the rise: There's been plenty of fanfare surrounding safety Marcus Ball since the Saints signed him earlier this offseason. The Saints are joining in the parade on Ball as well.Ball, a former Canadian Football League standout, has continuously received snaps with the first-team defense during team drills. He lined up several times with Vaccaro and Rafael Bush in the team's three-safety sets. Ball and Vaccaro teamed up on a blitz to blow up a pass play during Tuesday's practice as Rob Ryan expressed his delight after the play.Ball has jumped fifth-round pick safety Vinnie Sunseri on the team's unofficial depth chart a few days ago. It's becoming apparent the promotion is more official than unofficial in Ball's case.

I think you signed Bell because of a certain skill set.  I would like to see Sunseri make the squad as a special teamer or start to hide him after the next game to the PS.

Bell either makes the 53 or gets cut.

I know that I sound like a huge homer all the time (essentially because I am a huge homer), but Vinnie will either make the Saints roster or someone else's (imo). He is too big a gamer to not play.

Of course, the great thing is the depth and talent the Saints have accumulated at the position. I feel like this team really has a chance to make a lot of noise.

That is why I said that they will have to hide him.  They will either know that Sunseri will make the 53 or limit his tape exposure so others cannot get a great read.

He keeps showing up in highlight film....there's no doubt he makes the 53 man roster...they try to sneak him onto the practice team...we lose him...the kid is definitely a gamer....
