NFL Draft---Saints Pick 15th,
It is obvious that we have several desperate needs on this team. We are barely a shell of the same team that we were when we won it all in 2009. Of those that do remain many of those are on the offensive side of the ball.
The league used a winning percentage tiebreaker and the Saints ended up with the 15th pick. This really sucks because we pick behind all of the 7-9 teams including Tampa and Carolina.
11. San Diego Chargers 12. Miami Dolphins 13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14. Carolina Panthers 15. New Orleans Saints
Also as I stated earlier, Saints will end up with the 3rd position in the NFC South. This will result in the Saints getting the third place schedule which according to the results of the day means that the Saints will play a road game in Chicago next year and will host Dallas

Re: NFL Draft
I think that need to look at the defensive side of the ball and we need to find at least 2 and maybe 3 players who are going to be on the field next year as players and not projects.
We need DL. Both DTs and DEs.
We need at least one more starting LBer and maybe 2.
We need another safety.
On offense I could take a project at Tackle if a player that we liked was there in the 3rd or 4th round. I could take a blocking TE in the 5th or 6th round if he were there. Outside of that all my picks would be on defense.

Re: NFL Draft
The days of our offense putting up 30 or more points to out pace the oppossing teams offense are over...time to get serious on the defensive side of the ball...we were a disgrace defensively this season...and it's time for a serious wake-up call...

RE: NFL Draft
Isn't Bushrod an FA?
Definitely time to invest in the D, Williams ran for 10 ypc yesterday behind a patchwork OL with its 3rd string C.

RE: NFL Draft
Bushrod is a FA.
We got blown up at the DT position. That also comes from the lack of production at LB and safety. Defense has to work together.

RE: NFL Draft
My personal belief is that teams should be built from the inside out. Win the line of scrimmage and everything else gets easier.
I hope the Panthers spend 2 of their 3 first picks on linemen.

RE: NFL Draft
I wouldn't pick a single offensive player in the draft. The Saints had possibly the worst defense in NFL history, little more than shouting decoys. And of course this is what happens when you still acquire too many offensive players every year and say f$%^ the defense. Grab some free agents or three if you want more offense.

RE: NFL Draft
As a rival I want to point out that statistically had the worst D in the history of the league.
But does that mean you neglect your OL if you lose another good OG?

But does that mean you neglect your OL if you lose another good OG? Nobody said we will neglect the OL. I'm sure that we will make an effort to sign Bushrod, but he is not going to command a huge payday as he is around 15th-18th as a LT. The Saints have a history of promoting and developing from within on the OL. At one time, we had Jamal Brown and Stinchcomb at Tackles and developed Bushrod and Strief. Now both are starters. We have Charles Brown and Marcel Jones that they like very much. They also have Bryce Harris and William Robinson. The Saints have a history of finding OL players in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Clowney is scary good, he looks to be on the same level as Peppers, but with a better motor.

RE: NFL Draft---Saints Pick 15th,
Whatever the Saints do, I hope that don't draft that freaking blind arse blocker out of Michigan. Is that a tight end that ignores the guy right at his side and goes out to the left flat to block the other guy? He truly wants his rb dead, LOL.
