On the bright side, I think Morgan is looking good

Not much good to say about the loss yesterday.  All phases played horrible and Drew is not the leader he should be.
The defense is just a mess. I dont see how you can bring someone in and they lead you to the worst defense in NFL history and keep their job. I'm sorry but Spags should go.  I know the players' skillset are part of the problem, but no way we should be this bad.  It falls on him.

On the bright side, I think Morgan is showing he can be a deep threat receiver.
Ingram had a pretty good game too, for him.
And I think Robinson is looking better. Still has room to improve but he is playing more consistent.

This is the first time I've failed to watch the whole game...I actually got so disgusted that I turned it off...and I've sat through some horrible games before...to many costly mistakes the past 3 weeks have taken us out of contention for the post season...this one broke the camels back....ohlord

I feel like I should start this response with a disclaimer.  I love Drew Brees and I will always be thankful for the 2009 Super Bowl Win, the numerous great games and numerous records.

With that being said.  Some of what is going on now was laid back during the off season. It may just be a small percentage, but you brought up leadership.

1.  Drew Brees drug out his signing of his new contract.  Because of this the Saints had to franchise him and were unable to franchise Nicks.  Now the Saints did sign Grubbs, but that is not the same as resigning a player that you have continuity with.

2.  This also had Brees miss key time during the summer workouts.  Now maybe that wasn't a big deal, but it could have helped in the development of players like Morgan.

3.  Final the contract itself.  Brees and his agent were determined to get the $20 million per season.  The Saints were offering around $18 million.  Now 2 million might not be a big deal, but it limits what free agents you can bring in and can sometimes be the difference on 2-3 players.

It is hard to put 1/6th of the total salary on one player.

I forgot Bree's contract. why is he making commercials with One Direction and having his picture put on Tide if you're paying him big $$$?

I appreciate what Drew has done for the city and the team in the past. I don't appreciate what he did with his contract and with his arm this year.
I hope appreciate 2 or 3 years from now.

About as cheery as the bright side at the end of that Monty Python movie, but I guess it's something.
