#Panthers S Haruki Nakamura: "I basically cost us the football game. It’s hard on me because I’m supposed to come in and be a difference maker. And when you cost the team a football game, especially for how hard we played, its hard to deal with. This team deserves better. Especially giving up stupid plays like I did. Unfortunately I cost us the game." 4 minutes ago

I respect his ownership of it, but it's bad when you miss Martin at S.

He's a ST'er now. Seattle may change that.

I'm glad he owned it, but I'm not sure it was completely his fault.
I'm not as down on Martin as others. Martin is still a young player and made some solid plays over the past couple of years....maybe he deserves another shot.

RE: S Haruki Nakamura
Seemed like on a couple of plays, they actually played Cap at safety. I could live with that. He's a bit slight of frame, but he tackles well, hits hard, plays hard, covers decently.
And it's not like he'd have to play at a high level to beat what else we have at FS. If he moves instead of playing bystander, he beats Nakamura. If he knows which side of the field to line up on, he beats out Martin.

You can't be upset that Cutlass supreme doesn't drive like a Ferrari. However, you can be mad at a driver but putting a Cutlass Supreme in a race against Ferraris. Nakamura is not some great find who is the next coming of Ed Reed. He's a smart guy who GENERALLY, will help get the defense in position to make plays. He will also be in position himself, generally whether he makes the play or not.
Did you see his 3 inch leap for the ball at the end of the game? He's not going to become more athletic because we need him to. The Coaches called a shitty call and we payed for it.

RE: S Haruki Nakamura
He didn't leap. He lost the ball and looked back for it. Then he leaned backward for it, apparently unaware of where White was as well.
A jump would have been welcome. Trying to fall down in the general direction of the ball wasn't.

A jump would have been welcome. Trying to fall down in the general direction of the ball wasn't. He definitely leaped, or whatever you call that feeble attempt. Watch the second half in slow motion. You can even see him turn his head and look the ball into Roddy White's hands.

I can't call anything where he doesn't push off the ground in some fashion a "leap," a "jump," a "hop," or even a "skip."
YMMV.

We have been fooled to think that a defensive "giant" coach who was going to turn this team around, might be for real, we find out we have a guy with no clue. To start at the GM is smart thinking, but a new GM with current coaching is a joke! No offense to you, kepickle, I just think we can't cure this cancer with just "chemo" we need surgery too!

YMMV. I guess either way you slice it he sucked on the play. The thing is we knew BEFORE the game that we shouldn't count on him for Big time plays. Then we count on him for a big time play and its surprising that he doesn't make it. But hey its the Panthers.

I tried to tell you fellers at halftime he sold Cam down the creek, was a bad message he sent the team by frittering away the time ....a classic " scade " moment IMO ...

Forget being pissed at himself. If he wants to do something he needs to work harder than ever to make sure that doesn't happen again, and then go out there and be active on those types of plays and play like he's not scared to give up another.
