Panthers @ the Falcons Game day thread

Panthers @ the Falcons Game day thread

Why this game is intriguing: Any chance to watch Falcons quarterback Matt Ryancontinue torching the league should be seized upon. And the fact that the Panthershaven't tackled in a few games has to make Ryan's guys salivate. A real chance to go to 4-0 and take a (gulp) three-game lead in the division for Atlanta. It's everything they hoped for after an offseason of offensive soul-searching.

What to watch: The Cam Newton honeymoon has ended in Carolina. The star quarterback is being scrutinized like never before, both for his play and his attitude. And that Superman-style touchdown celebration with his team down several scores against the Giants wasn't a great move. Can he respond? Against the high-flying Falcons, scrutiny will continue.

Newton has not seen this sheltered noise chamber as abad as he'll see it this Sunday...I frankly think he is far from being un-nerved! Expect another game of mistakes and missed coverages. This team is in meltdown despite the weeks rest. Reat? WTH would they do anything but owrk 24-7 to turn their funk around?

I am still giving us only one chance: Over estimation by Atlanta coupled with laser focus by every single blood cell on the Panthers roster!

Agree with the above 100%. If the Panthers come out completely focused and make VERY few mental errors, get a few lucky calls or bounces of the ball, and hit their stride on offense, AND the Falcons have miscues and take the Panthers lightly, then that's the ONLY way I think the Panthers walk away with a Win.

Falcons fan: What worries me? That one day Cam will grow up and become a leader of men, focus on others instead of himself, and show courage.

Mike Nolan and our safetys are gonna fk with Cams head ...division games can always be tough, but I'm convinced we are for real, I think we win by 3 scores....

Panthers DL/OLB Antwan Applewhite (knee) has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Falcons.
Apllewhite, a Ron Rivera favorite, is a valuable special teamer, but he sometimes works as a situational pass rusher opposite Charles Johnson. His value to the Panthers is in the locker room. Sep 29 - 4:00 PM

Joe Adams in inactive today, meaning either Captain Munnerlyn or Armanti Edwards will be your punt returner ... given the Panthers defense can actually force the Falcons to punt.

Kealoha Pilares will be your kick returner. Jonathan Stewart, Jon Beason, Thomas Davis and Byron Bell are all active.

Tough game to get,lot of good people to try to cover.QB is pretty accurate also.

Gotta shorten the game, need 7-8 minute drives to keep them off the field.Defense needs to force a couple turnovers to give us some extra possessions.Might get a chance late to steal it.

Carolina Panthers ‏@Panthers
Munnerlyn returned punts for the #Panthers in 2009 and 2010, averaging 9.9 yards per return. #CARvsATL

Captain will be Doing PR's today I'm hearing

Birdy, remember later when I tell you this game is a trap for Atlanta. Carolina has the potential to explode and put up a ton of points. I won't be shocked with a win or loss, but I smell a big trap game for Atlanta.

I like popping Ryan in the mouth on the first snap!

Bam! Three and out on D with a sack and two hits on Ryan.

Lets see if the offense can hold up their end of the bargain.
