Nope.  I still feel the same about our QBs and Peppers.  I think the only change of opinion I had was about Martin who was playing great.

This was an awesome win, but eventually we are going to have to throw the ball.

I can't get past the idea that Peppers is finally playing well only so that he has a highlight reel for his next team willing to overpay.  So, no, on both ends

Works for me.  Personally I want him to drive his stock up enormously so that we can actually trade him.

We've seen the coaching staff move toward sanity for one or two games before, only to wildly veer back into talking-to-the-furniture crazy land again.

No, I've always had faith in this team..Players and coaches. Still a long way to go, and we still have to play with consistency and passion every week  to get it turned around.

Re: Is your mind changed?

Martin looked comfortable, though its only one game. Beason was great as always. Our DBs came to play. Good pressure from the DL though I know we didnt get many sacks. I credit that to Warner who has a lightning quick release. The offense looked good because we didnt have to throw anything further than ten yards downfield. The RBs looked good as usual.

Overall, this didnt change my mind one bit. Other than Martin, I agree with yall in knowing that this team was capable of this.

Peppers said last week that he is understanding Meeks defensive scheme. Just think if he had been at minicamp and training camp, he might have gotten a handle on it sooner.

About the defense? No.  Glad we finally got some turnovers. They've been playing well all year.  My mind hasn't changed about Peppers, he's been playing well all year.  The biggest improvement in this one game, in my opinion, was the play calling.  How bout that fake screen go route to Steve Smith?  That was the first time since I can remember that after a Panther play I was like "Wow, that was a very nice designed play".  I mean, it wasn't terribly fancy, but it was a huge step for Davidson/Fox.  The play where Steve ran the ball to the left side was very nice too.

RE: Is your mind changed?

I saw some things that suprised me. The fake smoke with Jake pumping was a nice little wrinkle. The defense came to play, and what I am seeing there shows that with solid DT play, our defense is in good shape. Props to Martin, though I do think we need to see more from him - he needs some starting time to show if he is the answer back there with Harris. Also, a nod goes to Peppers. He earned the paycheck for that week.

Another suprise was that Feeley didn't sub in for Jake. Although I am NOT suprised they didn't let Matt actually PLAY, instead calling runs for the entire last 2 series.

AS good as we saw him, compared to the past 8-9 games, jakedelhomme still overthrew a lot, and Jaws made the opnion that he is not planting well..I think he was still over-reacting and pushing a bit too hard, but he can hand the ball off well. I still question the back to back center attacks when they were putting 8-9 up front, while the wide out runs were waiting to long to punch for the EZ...stilll what a thrill show by those two...and let's not forget how good it was to see Smith get some action.

I'm not ready to crown the man after a 50% completion percentage and 90 yards...so no. It speaks to how this team can do when the QB isn't giving away points though.

RE: Is your mind changed?

Even though Jake didn't loose this game for us, he sure didn't win it either. Like the rest of our wins this year, we won this game in spite of Jake's bad play. At this point a 'great' outing by Jake is just not commiting turnovers that cost us the game. It's pretty apparent how short a leash he is on. Not sure how Fox can say he gives us the best chance to win games when he doesn't trust him at all.

Re: Is your mind changed?

Uhhhh... no.

Allowing Jake to make but 14 pass attempts may have worked in this game, but, as someone else stated, at some point they have to throw the ball.

"Works for me.  Personally I want him to drive his stock up enormously so that we can actually trade him."

Peppers is a free agent at the end of the year- the Panthers cannot trade someone who is not under contract. He is playing for next year's contract, wherever that may be.

"My mind hasn't changed about Peppers, he's been playing well all year."

Really? Peppers didn't show up until Week 3. Just stop with that.

Cannot and will not be able to run right at 8- and 9-man fronts the remainder of the season.

And where are all the Jarrett haters today? Although 7 pass completions does not make for a great resume, when Jarrett was thrown to he caught them.

Sherrod Martin was impressive. Cornerback speed with safety hitting ability. Was pleasantly surprised with his effort.

Re: Is your mind changed?

You're right- the game was a win and even more. Perhaps further proof that Jake should shoulder the blame for the teams troubles this year. Reduced pass attempts means less risk of picks, no picks and the Panthers win... or is it just coincidence? Not!

Re: Is your mind changed?

A great win yesterday but Delhomme was like 7-14 for 90 yards and a TD and thats considered a good game?  Yes this team has won before with Delhomme putting up numbers like that but with a weapon like Steve Smith a QB should have better numbers than that.  The Defense has started to change my perception of them but Delhomme and the passing game are still bad.

That play has been there for years and I am stunned that they finally ran it!!!

My mind is no where close to being changed at all as far as this team is concerned, unless we perform a football miracle and run the table the rest of the way.  I will say that my opinion on Martin has changed a little.  He had a great game yesterday.
