Something about Fox reminds me of Humphrey Bogart in "The Caine Mutiny".

Well, if we lose it won't be on just Delhomme, it'll be on Fox too.

RE: Prepare for another loss, Fox sticks with Jake.
i blame this on gross for putting the mutiny fear in foxes head going into the week. oh wait he knows the fans already want to kill him so nevermind
sigs and avatars suspended till we make it back to .500 atleast or i lose the bet with the 9ers fans (which looks likely)

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein I've had it with this man. I'm done. I can't pull for a team that tries so hard to be unlikeable.

Quote: Said wide receiver Steve Smith: "I just work here... (If) Jake is the guy, Jake is the guy. It’s not my call."
Smith went on to say that he can't worry about other people's jobs.
"It’s not that other guys don’t care, but Jordan Gross, for instance, he has to block Darnell Dockett and he can’t be concerned with how Jake feels or doesn’t feel," Smith said. "We all have our own designated jobs. When you have that going on I think it’s unfair to try to add more pressure on to a game that is important this week."

RE: Prepare for another loss, Fox sticks with Jake.
The fact that there is no "better alternative on the team" is a lame ass excuse. You sign Feeley. Go sign Garcia. Think outside the box. Whatever, he's sealing his fate. When Jake has 4 INT by halftime and it's 28-0, Moore will be ready.

Re: Prepare for another loss, Fox sticks with Jake.
As much as this decision is difficult, and the game painful to watch, I have to say, its necessary. Finally the end is here, and Fox has set his collision course with it. We will finally be able to be DONE with Jake Delhomme as our starter. As hard as this game will be to stomach, it will create a new beginning for the franchise. I won't claim Moore will save anything - but I will say that there will be no doubt that Jake will no longer be our #1 QB. That fact alone will put the Panthers on track for a future that once again, has hope.

Well, I know what I mean when I say, "It ain't my decision" that means "you realy don't want to know what my decision would be!"And that is how I took it.----kepickle wrote: ---------------OK what does Steve mean by this or maybe i'm reading to much into it ? http://www.carolinagr owl.com/i....tid=1:articlesQuote:Said wide receiver Steve Smith: "I just work here... Re: Prepare for another loss, Fox sticks with Jake.
What is John Fox saying about his and Marty Hurney's ability to put together a quality football team when a guy with 4 TDs and 15 turnovers is his best Quarterback? For starters, I don't believe Jake is the best QB on the roster, not by a long shot. But when Fox says he is, he does two things essentially. First of all, he admits that he and his staff are terrible at their jobs. The two backup QBs they are paying millions of dollars to are worse than a guy who has 4 TDs, 15 turnovers and a QB rating of 56. Secondly, it's a direct slap in the face to Moore and Feeley. His statement falls just short of looking them in the eyes and tell them "fellas, you are worse than the worst quarterback in the NFL. You aren't good enough to start over a has been. I'd rather give away around 10 to 14 points a game than play you." What a joke.

If all else fails, theres always the running game and an improving defense.Because I have given up hope on a quarterback change.

Re: Prepare for another loss, Fox sticks with Jake.
I just like the fact that Fox wants to made dead sure and make it crystal clear to Jerry that he doesn't belong here. It's awful nice of him to continue to make assine decisions one after another so Jerry won't have that hard of time kicking him to the curb at seasons end. Hell, let Jon Beason try kicking the field goals or play D-Will at DT or let Baker play FB It borderline's the decisions you are making anyway

Re: Prepare for another loss, Fox sticks with Jake.
Okay he can stick with Jake just as long as he runs the D. Will Wildcat offense he used against Atlanta. Then again if Jake gets 5 attempts chances are he'll still throw an INT.

Re: Prepare for another loss, Fox sticks with Jake.
Good decision. The coaches see the guys at practice every day. If they thought Moore was a better QB, and was ready to be a full time starter, they would play him. You have to give Delhomme another opportunity. If he struggles in the first half, then you pull him.

Re: Prepare for another loss, Fox sticks with Jake.
I was thinking the exact same thing. He is telling Feely and Moore.......you two are worse than the most incompetent QB in the NFL. If Im Moore.....Im looking hard at getting out of Charlotte. And that statement by FOx would be the last straw.
