Josh Gordon

Josh Gordon

Yes another one but first time doing this. I feel that strong that we need to get aggressive and make the move for him. He's a dynamic playmaker for freakin Cleveland! Surround him along with other studs and he'll be the playmaker we need at WR!

Can he be trusted to not wind up suspended?

Don't know much about him on or off the field, but I know he's 6'3 with decent speed and hands. I'm sure he would be a #2 WR in our system, which means he'll see about 5 targets per game...lol

I think his speed is rated as "damn good."

He's had a couple of issues so he could be a suspension away from a huge suspension. The kid is super talented so
I'd take a chance.

If we could get him for cheap I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Re: Josh Gordon

From Rotoworld:

"Adam Schefter has twice reported the Browns are fielding and receiving trade offers for Gordon. "We have no plan on doing that," said Chud. We'll believe the Browns aren't trying to trade Gordon when the October trade deadline passes and he isn't on another team. Targeted a whopping 19 times in his first game off suspension, there's every reason to believe Gordon is being showcased. Sep 23 - 1:46 PM"

I also saw another report that the Browns have already received a trade offer. Start with SF 49's,,,who are in desperate need  of a WR in Gordon's class.

He won't come cheap...

Unless he comes cheap there is no way gettlemen is gng ro approve it because he just got us
out of cap hell. Plus, is gordon any better than any other wr we have right now?! I dont think
so, but I guess we will see.

Seriously...Gordon is probably better than any WR we have...even Smitty...

Did I miss something... why is his name mentioned as maybe coming here?

RE: Josh Gordon

It's not mentioned as maybe coming here.

His name is mentioned in the fact that a few Panthers fans would like to have him here, and the Browns seem to be shopping him around the league, even though the Browns deny this.

I don't think he's better than Smitty. He would clearly be a big upgrade over LaFell though. And he would allow Smitty/Ginn to play in the slot while LaFell and Gordon play on the outside.

Although, he would probably cost the Panthers at least a 2nd round pick, if not a 1st. I would be interested if we could trade a player and a 3rd round pick, but then what player would Cleveland want that we would be okay with losing in the deal?

They don't want our RB's or OL. They don't want any of our vets since they're rebuilding with youth. So they'd be asking for guys like Luke, Star, Hardy....and that's about it, right?

Thought I'd add this. Honestly I'd be okay with trading a mid round pick next year for Greg Little. Bring the guy home and see what happens.

Thanks, I knew that Cleveland traded Richardson, but missed the WR's on the trading block.

Greg Little has done nothing, I wouldn't give more than a conditional 7th in the 2050 draft.

Well, I suppose I was being a little over-giving in my response. I haven't had a chance to look him up, just remember him being from UNC and having decent size/speed. What happened to him in the NFL that he hasn't been able to succeed? Hasn't he been in Cleveland the whole time? Maybe it is a QB issue....

I would still probably give a 7th rounder next year for him. Not like the typical 7th rounder is going to even make the team. Might as well throw a hometown kid a bone and see if he can turn it into anything.

Wouldn't trade for either little or Gordon tbh. Maybe a strong Maybe I would see if they would be willing to part with Davone Bess for a conditional late rounder. I am still waiting on Hixon and the Typical Training Camp "Star" (Edwards) to play, As well as maybe Barner out of the backfield.

Speaking of Armanti any update on his injury?

my sig and avatar will be back very soon

I thought I saw Edwards in the game Sunday. Maybe not though. Hopefully Barner gets some reps soon and can show us what he's got. Also, I agree where is Hixon??

We seem to have playmakers but they don't seem able to get on the field.

RE: Josh Gordon

Both Edwards and Hixon played Sunday.

Edwards brought the safety down and left Ross one on one with Ginn on his TD catch.

Hixon had a catch that ended just short of the marker on a 3rd down.

No way Brown is better than Smith, that's just crazy talk. He has some definite upside, but he also has some big character red flags.

If we could get him cheap this season, sign Nicks in the offseason...suddenly our WR corps looks pretty damn good.
