With the 44th Pick in the Nfl Draft, Panthers select...

With the 44th Pick in the Nfl Draft, Panthers select...

Who would you like to see the Panthers select here.  I have a few options that I think would really help us depending on who's still on the board.

-S DJ Swearinger (SCAR)
-WR Justin Hunter (UT)
-S J. Cyprien (FIU)

Think any one of these guys would be a plus in my opinion.

Lets hear what you guys think...???

Based on what Gettleman has said/done, I think we'll take the best available DB on the board.

at that point in the draft, you have to go with the best player available. If your 2 areas of concern/need is DB and WR, you have to go with the highest rated one.

I don't think you rule out guard while Big Warford from Kentucky is still on the board.  He would be an instant starter at right guard and instantly make the entire line better.  Look up what he did to Sharif Floyd if you need proof of that.  I doubt he makes it to 14 but that's the story of this draft.

Re: With the 44th Pick in the Nfl Draft, Panthers select...

I'm hoping some of the higher ranked "name" guys go so that they can push some of our ideal picks down the board.

Geno Smith - Top Rated QB
Jesse Williams - This guys is going to be good
Eddie Lacy - Best RB in the draft
John Cyprien - Too good of a Combine to sit until 14
Manti Te'o - A few teams need inside lb help
Auther Brown - see above

Any one of these guys would be ideal

1.  Justin Hunter
2.  Larry Warford
3.  Keenan Allen
4.  Jamar Taylor

Jesse Williams would be fine with me, even after Star.

Any S or WR...TE Ertz would be fine by me. I'd be ok with OG.

I'd say we're looking at Warford tbh. I'd take any of of the guys we just listed. Going to be an exciting round again.

Players we've shown more interest in,2nd round value:

Allen WR
Hunter WR
Cyprien S
Armstead OT
Warford G
Patton WR
Short DT
Thomas S

I have Bailey-WR,Wheaton-WR and Escobar-TE in the 3rd.Their board may be different though. Some CB's(Alford,Cummings) and a couple more DT's(Logan,Williams) also could go in the 3rd.

Wartford or Watson would be good to me. I think we should focus on o-line on this pick.

I agree. I thing Warford might end up better than advertised. He played at UK and succeeded, which is saying something.

I know we need skill position guys too, but I feel like Cam got hit so much last year it might be wiser to protect our number 1 investment before we give him more toys. Besides that our track record with WRs is so bad I'll not sure spending yet another high pick on a WR is the way to go this year unless its a can't miss.

after getting Hixon and Ginn, I can't see drafting a WR today. The same can be said about DB's.... Unless they were brought in to be backups.

I think Gettleman will go O-line in the 2nd

Also think the two CB's from Connecticut(Gratz/Wilson)could go in the 3rd.Showed interest in them as well.

Warford would be a great pick, especially considering how he stacked up against the best.  Seriously underrated Guard IMO.

Jesse Williams is going to be REALLY good.  I like everything about that guys game.  The only problem I have with us taking him is that he's too good to ride the bench.  What makes me love that pick is that Dwan isn't a long term solution at the other tackle.  Honestly Star has enough skill to take Dwan's position next year which would let Jesse Start at nose.

As much as i'd like it be a WR (Justin Hunter) I don't think it will happen as we have 8 on the roster allready.  A few of those will be cut during training camp for sure.  I think it will be a DB or Safety, possible OL.  Can't wait to get round 2 underway.
