Hixon visiting the Panthers

Link

The Gettleman pipeline could push another Giant to Carolina.

Last week, it was linebacker Chase Blackburn.  Now, it could be receiverDomenik Hixon.

I think it would be a great pickup. I have seen Hixon over the last few years. He has a lot of potential and could be a solid #3 guy.

Hixon would round out our receiving core perfectly. Sign him up

He would be a nice addition.   He also has really good speed and return ability.  When you add in the fact that he can be had cheap this draft would be a breeze.

Last nite  saw on facebook that he was in Charlotte, and was going out to eat with the Panthers. Going to BOA this morning.

Panthers | No deal for Domenik Hixon

Tue, 02 Apr 2013 17:57:10 -0700

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Domenik Hixon (Giants) visited with the Carolina Panthers Wednesday, April 3, but he left without a deal, according to a league source.

I heard it went very well and the reporter stated that, "both sides know they need each other."

Re: Hixon visiting the Panthers

So, Hixon didn't get an offer from any of the teams he visited. His asking price is probably too High and Gettleman won't Hurney. I mean overpay.

9:35 AM - April 3:

Hixon's 2-day visit with Carolina is over without a deal but the two sides are still talking

If he talks to Minny, they will probably overpay to get him

I hope they sign him, but it wouldn't be much of a loss if they didn't. He's an average WR.

I would like to see them sign the 6'5 kid Ramses Barden that killed us when we played them last year. He looked like a better WR to me then Hixon and he would be a lot cheaper option.

I trust Gettleman will make the right decision on free agent receivers given his past in scouting, especially considering Barden and Hixon were on his OWN team. He knows what they're capable of.

I'd rather sign Barden as well. He's younger and IMO has a bit more upside.

Schefter reporting that we just got Hixon for a one year deal. Good work
