Top 85 free agents: Mike Wallace heads best available

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/...-best-available

a few I like as starters or depth depend on the position & need
8) Andre Smith, OT, Cincinnati Bengals: No one is making fun ofSmith's man boobs now. The Bengalschose to tag Michael Johnson, so Smith is in position to hit the market =a upgrade at RT & a  younger option than Gross who will likely retire in a yr or so & Smith with help us get teh run game going

I would love to see Smith here, but he sure will be expensive. Also, Wallace is very talented, so it would be nice to see such a weapon for Cam.

But I like what Lafell brings at #2. I know some will say we need to prepare for Smith's replacement, and I guess you're right.

If we are bringing in an OT, I hope it is a LT. This guy wants 9 million a year? I think this guy gets signed for too much by a team that will dump him after 2 years to save cash. Until Cam's draft class comes out these guys think they are worth the huge contracts they got as rookies. Unless he sits on the FA market till he cools his heels I really don't see it happening.

I think we need a lot of value guys in FA, it's not sexy but it's the best thing we can do to not overpay these guys...as if we can afford that strategy anyways.

Gross is retiring in a year or two?

I bet that's news to him.

I was talking about A. Smith being forced to take less or be cut in 2 years if he signs a contract for 9 million, which is what he wants. He is a RT, or at least that was what I read on PFT. Gross is hard to read because he still has skills but is getting old. Guy is a team player so he will probably take less to close out his career here. I still like Gross but he was a much better RT. Do you really think Gross will be playing in more than 2 years? Seems about right but who knows, maybe the guy pulls a Farve.

OL's generally have long careers, particularly T's.

yea & after the age of 30 they are hurt a lot & spend more time in the Training room & after 35 they aren't worth having so why spend a  lot of money on a OL men past the age of 30

Now if i was going to pay 9 mil on a OL men it would this guy he's only 24

You're a wealth of knowledge with nothing to ever actually back it up.

Thus, it's just spouting off at the mouth.

True but not always for the same team after 32 or 33. Some might call that a dead career even if they don't stop at that point. If Gross is backing up Bell at the age of 35, his career is a zombie. I believe that saying is better off dead.

NOW it is my Opinion that Mid 30's is when most NFL OL men slow down to a point when they are quality backups at best & there starting day are over NOW unlike some on this board I'll admit I'm not Prefect & just might be wrong a time or two BUT I would be shocked if Gross plays at a starting level for more than a few yrs & if i was the GM I would n't pay him No more than 5 mil a yr on a 2 or 3 yr deal

I like when people disagree and especially when they have something to support their opinion, like BThomas and Linville and several others. Your opinions are different because you usually have to try to translate them to English, then make sense of the "I play Madden" acumen that follows.

Opinion
is a Middle English word that means a person's own view or attitude about something

i believe your just Mad because i won't go away  like many others here you have attacked
& they left this board for that reason

NOW I'M NOT PREFECT NOR HAVE I EVER SAID I WAS & i often say what i think & because you said it i haven't played madden in over a yr so Madden hasn't anything to do with it

NOW I don't believe paying a 32 yr OT 9 mil a yr is worth it do i have prove I'm right NO all i got is there is a reason many teams cut older players because they no longer have what it takes to earn there high contract Now if Gross was only making around 5 to 6 mil I wouldn't care or if he still played at a high level but he isn't FRANKLY I wonder if keeping Wharton would have been a better Idea

do you have prove you are

I'm personally not worried about Gross until he actually starts slowing down. JOAT is right when he says OL generally last forever.
