Re: Dwan Edwards wants to return to Panthers after
If the Panthers want him, and he wants to stay, it should be a done deal.

Hopefully he'll sign a very cap friendly deal.

I like the idea of sprinkling a few vets around to lead if they can still play.Experience goes a long way.

No! Lets move on...The guy has played 11 games in 2 season for us....Count our losses and put the funds to some where else...We need to start winning, you guys.

You're confusing Dwan for Ron.

He will be back. 6 sacks in one season, sounds like Kris Jenkins numbers!

Second best in the NFC behind only Suh, he was also very stout against the run DESPITE being a 3 tech/UT and taking on double teams.

Gettleman has talked and talked about wanting Dwan back but here's the rub. Dwan wants a 2 year deal and, according to the paper, Gettleman is only offering him a one year deal but offering Munnerlyn a 3 year deal. Dwan's been a top DT for us so why not a 2 year deal? It makes no sense and between no extension for Hardy (a top pass rusher) and not wanting to sign Dwan (a top DT) for 2 years, and releasing James Anderson who has been so productive for us, I'm starting to have reservations about Gettleman's decision making. I know we're cap strapped thanks to Hurney, but we did manage to get under the cap. And why hasn't Charles Johnson been asked to restructure?

And why hasn't Charles Johnson been asked to restructure? there's your answer. even after meaningful cuts, we're hardly under the cap. And for reasons I do not know, it would not be advantageous to restructure Johnson. I think it's because his cap number is surprisingly low (a lot of it was given in the signing bonus)
