With little money for FA moves, D Edwards (hands down the most productive player to hit FA) is worth bringing back even if hit means letting a few other DTs go.   He is the vet leadership we were looking for when we brought on R Edwards.  Luv to have R Edwards leave on a injury settlement.  Just can't stay healthy and he will be 34 before season starts.....

D Edwards will is the most solid DT we have had in years!!!  He is a seasoned vet , who can provide the same leadership Edwards could provide.  He spent years on one of the best Defs in football.  He can groom Nate Chandler/Nebblet (if he stays).  

He will be 32 when season starts so should not demand a huge salary.  IMO it's worth releasing FUA and R Edwards and using that those $$ to offset $$ DT dollars added to cap.   We could be solid up the middle with him, Stout with a big rookie space eater beside him.

I know, that is why I said we would not pay him a ton and let the other older vet go.  I think we need a vet in there if we are going to draft a rookie to put in the middle.  Just think we should have a vet who knows the system, can produce and help mentor on the the field.    No one can deny the middle of our line improved dramaticly when he took a starting spot.  Just saying..... Kracken's game also improved with him in there.

That's why he's worth some extra $$$.  He makes both our ends better because the opposing O-Line can't double team the DE's as much.  I like the thought of a young (second rounder ) being groomed under him.  Talent teaching talent.

Agreed.  Not top dollar, but a contract that would allow him to stay for another 3 years with incentive escalators built in for achievements.  He's worth a mid tier contract for sure.
