This team will be great, next season! I know, I know, some just can not wrap their arms around this but we beat N.O. twice and we had the mighty falcons twice as well. We will be great real, real soon...

Shula wasn't my favorite pick, but I am and will be a Panther fan. I drove over 6 hours to a game at Clemson the first season.
Some talk about how Shula was a bust in Tampa and even Alabama. That was 14 years ago. Hopefully he has finally go it together. If he doesn't do well, I think he will only be here a year

And who says Shula want make a good OC his Dad was one of the best coachs in NFL history and in the HOF.  Hell he cant do any worse than our old one.  And he was our QB coach for the last 2 years "I dont think its a bad a move as people are thinking it is"

One of my "bones" because so many were tearing Chud a new one as the 2012 season started. Even as little as two months ago there were some dropping Chud as a vital OC.
I think we all knew we'd not go after anyone in the filet mignon of coaches catagory.

I've been a fan since 1995 and I am always going to be a panther fan, regardless of who coaches or who plays. Now if they ever move out of the Carolinas all bets are off.

Anyone else remember when they were trying to get the franchise approved back in the 90's someone said that if Carolina ever got a franchise it would have golden arches...........

OK ok so i freaked out a little redface
I may not like the OC & i may not trust those in charge & unlike many here I don't see us having a good season much less the playoffs But I'll always be a panthers fan even if it hurts sometimes frown

The only way I will stop pulling for Panthers is when I no longer was born in Charlotte.Only pulled for other teams because Panthers were not here then.

I am now and for the foreseeable future will still be a Panther fan. But, I don't believe that the Panthers are good or will have a shot to make it as a continual playoff team.

we had a Super Bowl winning coach. That's one reason, I didn't want a "retread" coach that's been out of coaching for a couple years.

The problem I have with this poll is that it insinuates that the Panthers have to be good or improving for me to be a fan. I'm a Panther's fan. Period. While I want them to be good, it doesn't dictate whether or not I am a fan.

I understand your sentiments, but the purpose FYI was that a number of posters, personal acquaintances and guests have stated that "I've had it with this team.." "This is the straw.." and at least one friend has sold his PSL over our lack of stellar achievements. We might take an attitude towards them, but last I recall it is a free country.

I know saying they are angry, or disgusted, or fed up with this team is a sure fire way to get ostracized, but you don't have to comment, just vote.

Thanks BlueAgave!

RE: Jumping Ship?

I didn't vote because I think it is a bogus question. Being a fan is not tied to how well they do year in year out.

I have been a Panther fan since the very first article in the Observer saying a man from South Carolina wanted to bring an NFL team to Charlotte. I will remain a Panthers fan as long as they are in the Carolinas. So I have been, am, and will be a fan.

However, I do not think that the Panthers are on the right path. I do not think that JR did the best thing by keeping Rivera or that Rivera did the best thing by promoting Shula. I expect 8-8 at best next year.

Even though I am not optimistic about the Panthers record next year, I will support them. They are our team!

RE: Jumping Ship?

the last time the Panthers where in the playoffs we got in as a Bye & lost very badly to the Cards Now it is my believe that the Owner made a choice that day to support the GM & Not the HC & Clearing the cap before the lockout was the best thing to do & most of the Fans stood behind the GM or said to fire them both WELL hind site is 20/20 they say ..........................

Well Jerry Richardson do you think you picked the wrong guy ? after the lose on Jan. 10,2009
