Panthers @ the Saints
For the second season in a row, the Panthers (6-9) will head to New Orleans (7-8) riding a mini-hot streak for a New Year’s weekend finale against their NFC South rivals. The rivalry grew some teeth with the Saints’ Week 17 actions and the offseason revelation that they had targeted Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in their bounty program.

Yeh, well I hope that the OL reads this every morning and before they go to bed at night...they need to protect Cam as if their futures depended upon it!

RE: Panthers @ the Saints
The NFC South is as simple as this. IF Carolina wins they Finish Number 2 in the divison. Should we lose we will be last again. Should Carolina win this and finish #2 I will have a hard time seeing Rivera released. I am pulling for a giants loss as well So Richardson can Interview Ross.
my sig and avatar will be back very soon

Looks like Hardy didn't make the trip with the team and is unlikely to play today. Death in the family. That's a shame. Prayers for Hardy and his family. http://blogs.charlotte.com/panthers/2012/12/hardy- dealing-with-family-issue-status-in-doubt.html

Re: Panthers @ the Saints
Thanks for the heads up...very sad indeed, on the personal side, but the win/loss means little for us at this juncture. His absence will be noticed, but it was the right thing to do. I heard where a collegiate player's brother was shot & killed Friday, but the player opted to play anyway.

I think it was Hardy's mom. Although I wanted to see him literally smash the Mole family is still more important, especially when it's mom.

RE: Panthers @ the Saints
Here again is a great example of my issues with this coaching staff/offense.
Please pay close attention to the difference in the playclock when the Saints snap the ball vs when the Panthers do. Watch closely as Drew Brees gets the call from the sideline in his helmet, the team huddles around him in an almost Army-drilled like fashion. He then breaks the huddle and the team hustles into position at the LOS. Drew analyzes the D, makes a change if necessary, then snaps the ball. And all of that takes very little time.
The Panthers take FOREVER to even get up to the line. Almost always using the entire play clock and often being forced to call timeouts whenever the clock is at 2 seconds and the D is showing something they don't like.
Why can't the Panthers be more efficient with time management??
IMO that is totally on coaching. And it's simple unacceptable.
Am I crazy or does anyone else feel the same?

OMG....and literally the next play after I post the above, the Panthers are forced to call a timeout cuz of the playclock...
Seriously. WTF.

You are razor's edge on Stiffler....we call more time outs unnecessarily!

Re: Panthers @ the Saints
Am I alone on the almost automatic reaction to "flag" icons believing it is against us? Thank goodness Smith is rarely the culprit, but then it is usually the holding or some other thing like 12 men. Whew!

RE: Panthers @ the Saints
Yea absolutely no protection for Cam today. It's a shame, cuz he could set records if he had a bit more time and the WR's actually caught the balls that are thrown directly to their hands....
Cam's having a great game so far with very few mistakes, but he has NO time to survey the field and every throw he's being hit as he releases.

Another place kicker? I mean indoors from that point is no guarantee, but when it counts Kasey could get it done most of the time.
