Raiders @ the Panthers Game thread
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2012122301/2012/REG1 6/raiders@panthers#tab=preview&menu=highlightsWhy this game is intriguing: Thanks in part to their salary-cap disaster, the Oakland Raiders came into 2012 expecting a rebuilding year. They got it. With Darren McFadden returning to form in last week's victory, maybe they can find some more optimism. On the Carolina Panthers' side of things, Ron Rivera's seat is quite warm. Remember, this season began with major playoff aspirations. Could a late-season hot streak save Rivera's job? The Panthers enter this contest with two straight wins. Would a couple more victories prove that Rivera can thrive with a talent like Cam Newton?
Injury Report :For the first time since Week 12, Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is not listed as doubtful or out on the injury report. Stewart, who has been battling an ankle injury, is questionable for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders after practicing in a limited fashion on Friday. "We'll see how he is on Sunday," head coach Ron Rivera said. With only two games remaining in the season and running backs DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert performing well, the Panthers want to be careful about not rushing Stewart back. "You have to be very smart about that," Rivera said. "All those things will go into consideration." Center Geoff Hangartner (foot) is doubtful and likely to miss his second straight game. Guard Garry Williams (illness) is questionable after coming down with what inflicted fellow linemen Byron Bell and Thomas Austin , who both practiced fully Friday and are probable. "Apparently we didn't clean the (offensive line) room fast enough," Rivera joked. Wide receiver Brandon LaFell (toe) and defensive tackle Dwan Edwards (wrist) practiced for the first time this week and are probable. Defensive end Charles Johnson was given the day off.

Re: Raiders @ the Panthers Game thread
hopefully the Panthers will win the coin toss. After losing 13 in a row and then winning, I think it puts the team in an emotional advantage to come out hard and fast on the get go

I just want to see another complete game. It's a bad team having to travel across country and play in our home game finale.
From what I understand their OL sucks, so we should see another big day from our DL.

Panthers have added linebacker James Anderson to the injury report as probable. Anderson has missed the past two games with a back injury.

Meh, just IR him already. Let's see what we have in Phillips, it's not like we're playing for anything.

Feels kinda odd to have a better record than our opponent... When's the last time we played someone that had a worse record than us at the time we were playing them?

hope they don't lay an egg. this team is notorious for forgetting they have a 1:00 KO at home.

Couple penalties hurt us there on the 1st drive.

I am going to stick my head out here and ask: Is there anyone else who feels Kuechly is just slightly overrated?

I've tried to watch him very closely. He sometimes misses easy tackles and over pursues on plays often/makes bad reads. I think he's going to be great, but he ain't the Second Coming already. gmonet wrote:
