I highly doubt it. Cam is a talented QB that is marketable and the face of the franchise. I can't see anyone coming in and saying "let's get rid of that guy". There may be some heart to heart talks held with Cam about expectations for his play and behavior, but I don't see anyone coming in and getting rid of him.

Giving up on Cam would be stupid at this point UNLESS you could get substantial compensation for him.

I would like to clean house, including Cam. He is not a leader. He has talent, but that only gets you so far. Look at Cutler, he has talent, but no leadership skills. I was watching Peyton Manning the other day. Never saw him sitting on the bench with a towel on his head. No. He was talking to his offensive line, teaching them, pumping them up. Now that's a leader. Never wanted Cam in the first place.

And by cleaning house, I mean coaches. We have enough talent to win. I want a coach who is respected around the league, and more importantly, respected by the officials. Calls never seem to go our way, and it seems like the officials are always looking for something to call against us.

I would bet this kepickle...look to the fact that Cam seems to have "matured" in his post game pressers and has lifted his head a bit more on the field, even in mistakes and eventual losses...we actually one loss and one win, but he's showing change. I'd bet JR, or his proxy through Mr. Morrison have let Cam know he's our guy, but the "leadership" he's required to display must elevate.

I cannot think of one coach staying, even the much improved McDermott, unless the new candidate says he needs (him) whomever that might be. Still, what scenario shows us everyone but one gone, and still seem sensible? I feel Rivera has made his "mark" and all who worked directly with him, is likely gone.

The players is another issue. Cam is safe, Clausen is even possible, but if he stays, consider Anderson gone, or visa versa. Our QB has obviously won the battle by staying starter QB, but to show little or no improvement is gonna be costly to the next HC IMHO.

REALLY.. we are even talking about this after 2 years?

I read some comment in a different thread someone compared Cam to Jimmy.. really Jimmy. Even if we go 2-14 like Jimmy did, atleast Cam has kept us in close games where Jimmy didn't.

Say we somehow beat out Kanas City to secure the first pick which Rookie QB will we take? Then that guy has to suffer through 2 years of no WR to throw too, Steve with out a doubt will retire if we draft a new QB and trade Cam.

Which current starting QB or back up QB would we trade Cam for? None in my opinion.

i agree ED i see there has been a change in Cam & I'll bet JR a long with Cam's Father & others Helped him move forward But  that said I also think a new GM & HC might have other ideas

Quite possible, but you might be hard fixed to find any "new HC in town" willing to let Cam slip through their fingers before he gets to "Test Drive" the kid.
On Clausen, he seems to be the Weinke of the day. He surely has some talent left, but whatever purpose he serves us, I can't seem to get a grip on. I met four guys in Lowes yesterday. To a man, they felt Clausen was "wasted space." It seems to me it's gonna be one or the other (C or A), but Cam's here for a couple years, at the least IMHO.

The question is,if we dont start winning, will Cam just play out his contract and see what he can get on the FA market,or will he demand a trade ?

will he do like Peppers and claim he is "Too Good For Carolina" ?  He already said if he cant change the team,he is going to "Get Out The House"

and The Colts wouldnt trade Luck for our entire team!!!!

You forgot Charles Johnson, until next year anyway, and if Luck is not cutting it we can send him to whoever for Matt Barkley

Re: wil a new GM & HC want a new QB

It would be very shortsighted to give up on him already, but....

don't underestimate the damage that the lengthy contracts and crippling salary cap constraints will have on this team.  It's feasible that a new GM could use Cam as a bargaining chip to move some pieces around and clear space to bring in "his guys".

Feasible.
