Unforunate for Pilares. Hope he can come back strong next pre-season and show that he belongs on the field.

It's now or never for Gettis. Dude played well when active before, finally coming back healthy. No chemistry with Cam, but if he can develop some he could turn into a decent weapon. But he's gotta show it now. He needs a solid 500 yards and 3 TD's before the end of the season. And he's capable of that, given the right opportunity and time to develop with Cam.

Falcons fan: What worries me? That one day Cam will grow up and become a leader of men, focus on others instead of himself, and show courage.

Yep, I have high hopes for Gettis. Perhaps he can pick up where we left and we can ditch Murphy...or bench him until he learns how to use his hands.

So you think AE is going to be the KR?

I think AE was fortunate that somebody missed their assignment. I felt good for him, but in no way should that play make him out to be anymore than what he already was. In all honesty, that should have been a TD.

AE has made progress, last year that's probably a drop. That, however, isn't saying much.

I'd rather have Adams back in rotation returning.

Took a shot to the shoulder and then landed on it funny during a return about midway thru the game. Had an MRI and is now done.

I agree.  I would like to see what the kid can do when he catches the ball.  Looked pretty good in preseason.
It's about CAM TIME!

At the speed they were running it would not have been much to outrun or slightly outsmart his defenders. Still...it got us a moment of offensive success, which saw very few touchdowns for the way we were playing.

Adams could reclaim his job, unless coach Ron Rivera decides to go with Gettis or Armanti Edwards.

Gettis, a sixth-round pick in 2010, played in 15 games as a rookie, including 13 starts. The former track standout at Baylor caught 37 passes for 508 yards and three touchdowns in 2010 and gives the Panthers another deep threat.

------------ I have never been a fan of edwards I just dont think he has got it.  Need to see what we got in Gettis hopefully Cam can find him a couple times this week against the Broncos.  I think Pilares was starting to make some strides, so for him to go down now is frustrating.  Adams will get his shot because Murphy has dissappeared and Lafell is still too streaky.

Edwards certainly could have dropped that pass, but he also could've outsmarted the guy that had an angle on him, and still made it to the EZ.

I agree he doesn't have "it", but that doesn't mean he wouldn't make a capable WR in terms of getting open just like he did down the sidelines. Let's be honest, it would take NFL defenses at least 2-3 more times to see him catch a long pass like that on a similar play before they really started shifting focus to being mindful of his presence in a game.

Also, as long as he's running straight and beating his man off the ball, and he makes the catch, isn't that all we need in a 3rd/4th WR?

If he can go out there and 3 out of 4 times get past the defender and make a catch, then he's efficient. It won't show that often because the right coverage isn't always there, i.e. they roll safeties to cover him, or it's a zone. But when the time is right if he can do the job and catch the ball, then keep doing it until it doesn't work.
